Last year, we shared the story of the discovery of WWII pilot First Lt. William B Montgomery’s (W&J ‘38) remains after being reported missing in 1944. Another brother, Charles (Chuck) Reynolds (W&J ‘39) who had a similar story!
First Lt. Reynolds also served as a pilot in WWII. Brother Reynolds, stationed in New Guinea, crashed his B-25 plane into a lagoon and was never heard from again. He was reported missing in 1943.
It wasn’t until 2023 when scientists analyzed a tomb for an unidentified American soldier in the Philippines, and results confirmed it was Brother Reynolds!
More about Brother Reynolds can be found in the recent issue of The Shield: https://www.phikappapsi.com/blog/reynolds-montgomery-winter-24/
