I went to bed last night hoping I’d wake up today & find that the last 24 hours had been a horrible dream. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.

28 years ago, Dollie Settle called me & asked if I’d be interested in working at the Key. She knew that I got along with Russel & thought it would work. It did. Not only did I have a good job but I acquired a family I didn’t know I needed.

The Red Key Tavern has become such an important part of my life thanx to Dollie. We’ve had lots of losses over the years but this one hits different. It’s gonna be hard to go into work & my silly feisty friend not be there.

Dollie would do anything for anyone. She would give you the shirt off her back then call you a “dorkass” if you did something stupid. I’ll never forget all the parties at their house, playing darts at Judy’s; Oh the stories I could tell! There was never a dull moment when she was around. I will so miss that!

All my love & prayers go out to Jim, Leslie, Lola & all of Dollie’s family & the rest of us who have to go on without her. RIP Dollie ❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽

Our sweet matriarch of the Red Key Tavern, Dollie Settle died early on Wednesday, January 24.

We've appreciated the outpouring of love and concern for Dollie in the last month. She loved everyone fiercely and is already missed!

The bar will be closed for the rest of the week to allow us all to grieve and plan for Dollie's service.

When plans for Dollie's service are finalized we will add the information here.

We appreciate all of your continued support.

For those who knew him. We lost a long time regular Tom Test last night. May he rest in peace. ❤️
