Another makeover! This time on my son, Drew Stephens. He's looking pretty awesome if I do say so myself! He's a handsome guy!

Makeovers are a lot of fun especially when I get to do almost whatever I want. Amy Rardin you were an absolute pleasure to work with! I think I ended up cutting off almost 14 inches of hair! Amy was ready for it and ready for suggestions for a new look. You look amazing, Amy!

The salon will be closed June 19th through July 1st.

Here's a before and after picture of one of my wonderful long time customers, Dannette Cunningham. We were having lots of fun! She doesn't like styling products in her hair so I tried to convince her that hairspray is her friend because it'll never let you down. Hahaha! So I had to get a picture of her with the hairspray in her hand.

I've been going to Sandra to get my hair done as long as she has been a stylist. I followed her from the salon she first worked at to her home salons each time she moved. I was stuck in the early 70s long straight hair when I first started. Sandra helped me work through my fear of trying different hair styles. She is great at knowing what style would look good on me and work with my hair texture. She always gives me instructions on what to do with my hair once I’m home so I’m more comfortable with my new style. I’ve also gone through several hair colors and highlights and each time she has done an awesome job. She always lifts my spirits and I always leave feeling better about myself. "Sandra has been my hair stylist for 18 years. I began going to her when she worked in a salon by Merle Hay Mall, then she had a shop in her home in Van Meter. She stopped doing hair for a short while until I begged her to do my hair again. She let me come to their apartment in West Des Moines. "Sandra has been cutting my hair for a number of years to my great satisfaction. Within the past couple of years I've noticed some grays creeping up on me. Ever the one to be frugal, I purchased boxed hair color at my local department store. I was pretty satisfied with this arrangement until I noticed I kept going darker and really wanted to trend back towards my natural color of more auburn brown. I feared going orange if I tried myself so I asked the professional, Sandra, what I should do. She recommended we start lightening my color by adding some highlights and coloring the roots just a shade or two lighter than my current color in order to avoid damaging my long hair and to increase the health of my hair, which had become dull & dry from home coloring. I let Sandra work her magic. I was utterly and absolutely delighted with the outcome! The health, sheen, strength and luxury of my hair was immediately improved! Since that first amazing experience with professional hair color I haven't looked back. I have had numerous compliments on my hair, even from complete strangers! It is absolutely worth the money spent to have Sandra color my hair as compared to the mediocre results of using a box color at home. Now I budget to allow for an all-over color quarterly and in between I have Sandra just touch up a few highlights and my roots to satisfy my economical needs as well as my beauty regime.
