Our Soil & Water Conservation District is looking for a few GOOD people to serve as a commissioner or assistant commissioner. We are very sorry at the passing of Cathie Graves, a long time commissioner on March 15th of this year. We are looking to appoint someone to fill out and serve the rest of her 4 year term (approx. 2 years left). We are always in need of assistant commissioners (non-voting) to learn about what we do and assist us in our many activities.

We have a very active Soil & Water Conservation district with many positive things happening. Please message us or call / txt me (Mike White - Commissioner) at 515-681-7286. if you have an interest.

Note: These are non-paying, non-political positions. We DO cover your expenses incurred while serving the district.

This year, SILT has a goal of preserving 10 new farms. With more land in Iowa preserved, we'll be able to keep this land producing food for the next generation, protecting future farmers and their families.

If you know a landowner that believes in SILT's mission to preserve land to grow healthy food, please share this with them and help spread the word.
