Equine Massage Therapy. Helping horses and their owners have a confident and symbiotic partnership.
A full-body massage can boost your horse's digestion!
It increases the release of essential enzymes and stimulates intestinal movement, promoting a healthier digestive process.
Our horse's are athletes. Which means we:
- Prioritize their nutrition.
- Have proper warm ups & cool downs.
- Properly massage & stretch them.
- Know how to condition them.

Along with muscles, massage therapists also work on fascia but what is it?
Fascia is a thin connective tissue that encases and holds every muscle, organ, bone, blood vessel, and nerve fiber in the body.
▪️ It is made up of multiple layers: superficial, deep, visceral and parietal.
▪️ It stretches as you move.
▪️ Healthy fascia is slippery and smooth with stretch.
▪️ Unhealthy fascia is thick, dry and sticky with limited movement.
▪️ It can stiffen up causing limited mobility and knots.
▪️ Trauma, limited movement and repetitive motion can cause it to become stiff.
How can we keep fascia flexible?
▪️ Allow your horse to move as much as possible.
▪️ Stretch after rides.
▪️ Use heat therapy if there is a knot to work out.
▪️ Take advantage of massage therapy.

We all understand that horses need water but not many of us understand its role for muscle health.
Here's why it matters: 💧
1️⃣ When horses exercise, they sweat, losing water and risking dehydration. Hydration keeps muscles well-supplied with blood, oxygen, and nutrients, enhancing performance and minimizing cramps and injuries.
2️⃣ Water delivers vital nutrients like electrolytes and glycogen to muscles, fueling movement and removing waste products, preventing fatigue.
3️⃣ Hydration aids in repairing muscle damage post-exercise, essential for muscle growth and speedy recovery.
4️⃣ Well-hydrated joints mean smoother movement, less strain on muscles, and improved flexibility.

Ever wondered how long it takes to 'start over' with bodywork? 2-4 months. A rhythm is crucial! 🔄
Let's keep that rhythm going for happy, healthy horses! 🐴💆♂️
Calling all last minute schedulers! Contact me today to see if I can squeeze you in.
Remember, the goal is prevention and not crisis management.
Ever wondered how to tell if your horse's muscles are healthy? Good muscle should feel like just under ripe brie - with a little rebound and no spasm when palpated. Poor muscle, on the other hand, can feel like an overripe brie, where your fingers sink in, or a dried-out cheddar, with a solid feel. Keep those muscles happy and healthy, folks!
Don't let pain and tension slow down your horse's recovery! As an equine massage therapist, I'm here to help your horse feel their best and shorten their recovery time.
Why I do this.
I’m off to Colorado! I will be taking this week for some really exciting continuing education! I am out of office until June 2nd, but I will be answering messages, emails, and scheduling in the evenings!
So excited to bring back some new techniques to continue to be my best for my clients! ♥️
Rare, last minute openings for this coming Friday! Reach out to schedule before they fill: 952-564-0459.
Palpation is a crucial skill for all horse owners to learn. It empowers you to monitor and identify any discomfort or injury in your horse, allowing you to get in front of major problems. Take the time to master this skill and keep your horse feeling their best.
Sometimes your horse needs bodywork because... well they are enjoying their turn out a bit too much.

Pay attention to the silent language of your horse; their gestures speak volumes about their needs and emotions.
Horses with weak back muscles may suffer from stiffness, pain, and limited mobility. They are also more susceptible to developing kissing spine. However, there are various methods available to strengthen these muscles and prevent pain and atrophy from occurring in the first place.
Here's what you can do:
✔️ Core Stabilization Exercises: Leg yields & shoulder-in exercises work by encouraging your horse to engage its abdominal muscles and shift its weight onto its hindquarters, which helps to support the spine and reduce the strain on the back muscles.
✔️ Stretches: Stretch the horse's back muscles to promote flexibility and reduce stiffness. Ask me! I'll help you identify specific stretches for your horse.
✔️ Proper Saddle Fit: Saddle fit can significantly impact the pressure and weight distribution on the horse's back. A poorly fitting saddle can cause uneven pressure points and contribute to back pain, so it's essential to work with a qualified saddle fitter to ensure that the saddle fits your horse correctly.
🔔 Reminder: Consult professionals when you have questions. If not done correctly, any of these exercises and stretches will actually hurt your horse rather than relieve pain and discomfort.
