Strong Northwest Winds Continue This Afternoon...
Strong northwest winds between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph will continue through early evening. These winds may cause some driving difficulties, especially for high profile vehicles.
In addition, loose and unsecured objects such as holiday
decorations may be blown around with the gusty winds this
afternoon. The winds will decrease greatly after sunset this
evening.
Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of eastern Linn,southeastern Delaware, west central Jackson, western Dubuque, northern Cedar, Jones and northeastern Johnson Counties through 1030 PM CDT
Showers & thunderstorms will move NE at 45 mph across parts of SE Iowa into mid to late evening south of I-80. Strong storms are possible with gusts to 50 mph, lightning, and a brief downpour. Additional storms, possibly severe, are expected after 9 PM.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, Johnson County residents can properly dispose of unwanted or outdated pharmaceuticals and needles. This evening, the Burn Ban for all of Johnson County Iowa, has been lifted (as of 8:30 PM) by the State Fire Marshall's Office. This is Effective as of 8:30 PM on 10-25-2024. That said, please continue to use a lot of caution when burning things, and please be extra attentive to all outdoor fires. Things have improved with recent rains, however they are far from "back to normal".

Isolated showers and thunderstorms will move into eastern Iowa this afternoon. Storms are expected to stay below severe levels and may weaken as they move further east. Additional showers and storms are likely later this evening, some of which could be strong to severe storms.
The Coralville Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing adult.
Grant Leonard, 29, was last seen in the area of 1st Avenue and Holiday Road in Coralville during the early morning hours on Sunday October 22nd, 2023.
Anyone with information about Grant’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Coralville Police Department at 319-248-1800.
With any luck this holds true.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday night. A soaking rain of 0.5 inch to 1.5 inches is expected along and south of I-80 with lower totals north. There is a low risk for isolated severe storms mid evening into the early overnight hours with large hail the main threat.
The University of Iowa Homecoming Parade is this Friday, Oct. 28.
We want to make sure everyone has a great time, which includes having a spot to park, knowing road closures, and making sure your vehicle doesn't get towed to make way for the parade and setup.

It will be clear and calm tonight with increasing clouds expected later on Thursday. Lows tonight will be in the 30s with highs Thursday in the mid 60s to low 70s. It will be stormy Thursday night with a low risk for some storms with large hail.

Very high fire danger is expected today for much of the area with gusty southwest winds and low humidity. The main concern remains with field fires and spread due to wind.
