Why UCI Bio Sci? A Closer Look to UC Irvine’s School of Biological Sciences
At UCI Bio Sci, we focus on our foundational theme of MIND | BODY | WORLD. Life interconnected.
Biology is an inherently broad and diverse discipline, ranging from studies of molecules to whole ecosystems. Whether it is eradicating the most menacing diseases to tackling severe threats to the environment, we know life is interconnected. Biology is no longer just a subject for “scientists” or “clinicians”; it is the story of us. It is the study of life. The more we know about life and the living world, the more we can ensure that our children, grandchildren, and generations beyond inherit a better world. This is why it is very fitting that our School’s theme is MIND | BODY | WORLD.
Our faculty and researchers are focused on generating bold ideas and new models. From starting the first academic department devoted to studying the brain in the world to working with various institutions and centers to solve our world’s most pressing issues, we are innovators and driven by the same passion to make a positive impact in our world.
We know many out there share our vision. We invite you to learn more about our research, achievements by our faculty, and ultimately how we are inspiring curious minds to train the next generation of Biologists.
