Grace Presbytery

Exploring Missional Leadership (EML) is a free daylong event led by 1001 national staff. Through presentations, active learning and group conversation, participants will be introduced to the nature of entrepreneurial ministries and the competencies needed to do that work. Individuals discerning a call to start a new worshiping community or other ministry will be guided in identifying the next steps to take in their own skills development. Participants involved in presbytery and church leadership will be guided in ways to identify and cultivate potential new worshiping community leaders and other innovators in their presbytery, congregation or circle of influence.

Mental Health Ministry Cohort

August 19 - 22, 2024
6:00 PM Monday through Lunch on Thursday
Gilmont Camp and Conference Center

This topical cohort is sponsored by the Congregational Support Committee of Grace Presbytery. 

Programming will include:

Mental Wellness and Brain Health Trainings by Shirley Weddle, 
Co-founder and President of the Rotary E-club for Su***de Prevention and Brain Health; with Matthew K Weddle, Fellowship for Cognitive Neuroscience Graduate Studies UT Dallas

Tuesday's focus will be Safety Plan Training -Create your own safety plan, a written list of coping strategies and support resources, giving you the tools to help others create their own, and we will work in small groups to dialogue working our safety plans.

Wednesday's focus will be exploring Biblical texts and brain health. And there will be a Narcan Training to respond effectively to an opioid overdose emergency. A sample will be given to each participant. 

AND there will be fellowship, campfires, and fun. It is our hope some of the participants in this cohort will remain together for ongoing support in ministry and life.

$200 for the first 15 registered. (Grace Presbytery CSC pays $200) For the CSC discount, ministry leaders (clergy and laity) must be in Grace Presbytery.

Congratulations to Maddy Hall who received Brite Divinity School's Theology and Religion award at the 2024 Spring Celebration. Maddy is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree and expects to graduate in December 2025. Maddy currently serves as the Director of Children’s and Youth Ministry at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Denton.
