Last week Walker hosted its 2024 Apprentice Appreciation Luncheon, recognizing our currently-enrolled and recently-graduated DFW IEC students. Over (65) Walker employees are currently part of the IEC (Independent Electrical Contractors) Apprentice Training Program and attended the event.

Walker is proud to support our employees with tuition assistance for the 4-year IEC program available in Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio.

Special thanks to Erin Stewart, Paul Lozoya, and Zackary Jarmon from IEC Dallas Chapter for speaking about their program. Your insights and support are invaluable. With a growing shortage in skilled trades, it's crucial to support the next generation in learning these vital skills. We’re excited to announce that Cliff Daunis has been promoted to Mission Critical Executive at Walker Engineering. Since joining us in 1996, Cliff has been an invaluable member of the Walker family, bringing 45 years of electrical experience and expertise as a Master Electrician. He started his career at the young age of 16 with a small electrical company before joining the “original” Walker as an Electrician.

Cliff is known for his exceptional ability to turn challenging situations into manageable ones. He values his customers and coworkers deeply, always striving to create a positive, productive and safe environment.

In his new expanded role, Cliff will continue to leverage his extensive experience working on data center projects and foster strong relationships with customers to drive success in mission-critical operations across the State of Texas. We are eager to see him thrive and make even greater contributions.

Outside of work, Cliff enjoys boating on Lake Tawakoni and working on small projects around his home where he lives with his wife Jennifer and their dog Cooper. Cliff has three adult children and recently became a proud grandfather.

We’re excited to announce that James Parris has been promoted to Operations Manager, DFW Tenant Finish Group at Walker Engineering. Since joining us in 2015, James has been an integral part in driving the expansion of the Tenant Finish Group. He attributes his personal growth to Walker's exceptional leadership support system that fosters career development.

In this role, James will continue to develop his leadership skills, nurture strong relationships in the field, and deliver outstanding customer service. We are eager to see him thrive in this new position. Outside of work, James enjoys traveling with his wife and kids.

We’re excited to announce that Luis Perez, CRIS, SHEP, CSHO has been promoted to DFW Regional Safety Manager at Walker Engineering. Since joining Walker Engineering's Safety Department in 2017, Luis has been dedicated to advancing his career in occupational health and safety. His commitment to professional growth is evident as he recently returned to school to further his expertise in construction safety.

Luis' passion for developing teams and people, along with his dedication to safety, has made a significant impact at Walker Engineering. We are eager to see him thrive in his new role.

Outside of work, Luis enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, and traveling with his family. They are also avid sports fans. Congratulations, Luis! We wish you success in your career.

We want to give a warm welcome to our new VP of Corporate Strategy & General Counsel, Raymond Fischer. Raymond obtained his B.S. from Texas A&M in 2000 and his JD from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU in 2004. He spent the last sixteen years with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP (and its predecessor, Crouch & Ramey), where he focused on Complex Commercial Litigation.

In the role of VP of Corporate Strategy & General Counsel, Raymond will oversee the contract review process for Walker in addition to providing strategic legal and business insight to our executive team.

Raymond lives in Dallas, originally hailing from Shreveport, LA. In addition to spending time with family, Raymond is a college football and basketball fan. Please join us in welcoming Raymond to the Walker Team.

We are thrilled to announce that Matthew Hill has been promoted to Vice President of Operations, Tenant Service Group at Walker Engineering. Since joining Walker in 2015, Matt has been instrumental in the Tenant Division’s growth as he focused on developing new systems and building a strong and talented team with an emphasis on “The Walker Way.”

As Vice President, Matt looks forward to furthering customer relationships, fostering a safe and thriving work environment onsite, and expanding his focus on field operations by identifying and mentoring project leaders.

Matt is a proud father and husband, with faith and family being central to his life. These same qualities contribute to his solid character and strong reputation in our industry.

We would like to announce the promotion of Victor Soto to the position of Vice President of Virtual Design at Walker Engineering. Victor's dedication to creating a collaborative, team-first culture makes him the ideal leader for this role. Victor first joined the company in 1999 as a Draftsman and has progressed through the roles of Estimator, CAD Manager, Assistant PM, Project Manager, and Director of VDC. He has remained committed to Walker’s success as well as the success of his team members and projects.

When asked who or what helped shape his career growth and development, Victor cited numerous individuals throughout his career at Walker, expressing gratitude especially for the mentorship of Ed Emich, who has been instrumental in his success as a professional, leader, father, grandfather, and mentor to others.

Walker Engineering recently participated in the Lewisville ISD Technology, Exploration & Career Center West (TECCW) 2024 Employment Signing Day Event. As a business partner for their electrical program, we're proud to have signed up four talented future electricians. Representing us this year are Blake Walker, Jared McDonald, CSP, CSC and Jayson Torres, PHR.

The TECCW Program provides high school students with exceptional career training opportunities, equipped with state-of-the-art technology offerings. We would like to announce the promotion of Damon Dotson to the position of Austin Division Manager at Walker Engineering. Damon joined Walker in May 2021 as the Director of Business Development in Houston.
