Our friends at the Itasca Community Library have summer reading programs for various age groups. Join one of their Read, Renew, Repeat Summer Reading Clubs. Read books and earn fun prizes!

While school may be out for our students, many of our teachers and support staff are busy both learning and planning for the next school year! ☀🖊

Teachers from Itasca, Keeneyville Elementary School District 20, and Medinah School District 11 gathered together for a two-day training. This course focused on the influence of social-emotional factors in learning. Teachers gained a clear understanding of the Quantum Learning System and practiced applying new techniques in a supportive environment.

We're excited for all of our professional learning planned for this summer!

While the school year may have ended, we would be remiss if we didn't highlight our Franzen 5th graders and their recent D.A.R.E Graduation, congratulations! 🎓🎊

Franzen Fourth graders were able to listen and ask questions to Dr. Merrilee Guenther, a paleontologist from Elmhurst University and an Itasca community member. She presented to the students in a whole group and then visited each classroom with her fossils and rock samples. Each student even got to pick out a rock from her collection to take home! Students enjoyed making connections and expanding their knowledge on the topic.

What a perfect way to end our literacy unit on Geology!

"Oh the places you'll go!" Today was preschool graduation at Benson Primary and the kids were all smiles! Off to the wonderful world of kindergarten they go! 🎓🎉

Peacock 8th Graders continued their year-end celebrations with some bowling and fun at Pinstripes last week! What a fun way to wind down the school year for the Class of 2024. 🎳

⭐️ THEY "MADE IT A 🔟!" ⭐️
While many people contributed this school year- Amy Reuter, Milissa Riley and Heather Buske contributed significantly to Benson Primary Wellness Wednesdays. Our staff, students and community benefited from our monthly Wellness Wednesday initiatives. Last week's culminating event was a coordinated touch-a-truck and community-building activities for our students to engage and enjoy! 🚓🚒

As we mentioned, our class of 2024 has been BUSY! Peacock 8th graders enjoyed a beautiful evening of dinner and dancing with friends at their 8th grade graduation dance. 🍽

As the school year winds down our 8th grade students have been keeping busy! Last week, they enjoyed a trip to the city for their 8th grade boat trip. It was a beautiful day spent on the water, connecting with peers, and taking in the skyline. ⛴⚓️
