A post from one of our mothers of a little guy we had the privilege of serving until they moved out of state a few months ago. We are so proud of your progress, Samuel...

This picture brings tears to my eyes. To most this just looks like a 3 year old child that's hungry and really enjoying his plate of baked spaghetti. However, this picture represents a child who a little over a year ago was still on mostly pureed food and gagged/threw up at almost every meal. Food was overwhelming to him and he HATED mealtime due to sensory and some medical challenges. Meals were emotionally and physically exhausting (for Samuel and me). Dropping Samuel off at places (where food would be involved & with people that weren't familiar with his challenges & how to navigate them) almost always brought lots of anxiety because of his "invisible" disability. Thanks to feeding sessions twice a week over the last year and a half (while in TN), Jordan Lee (speech therapist) was able to work miracles for Samuel to where he now LOVES food (as you can tell in the picture) and is able to eat baked spaghetti (a meal with different types of food and more than 1 texture - soft and hard) without gagging, choking, aspirating, or throwing up. AMAZING! Now we still have some challenges with some textures and foods so food still has to be in mostly bite sized pieces and we have to be careful with foods that have multiple textures (to avoid choking/aspirating) and soft foods (to avoid stuffing and then choking/aspirating) BUT we have come SO far! I am immensely thankful for Jordan Lee (TLC Speech Therapist) and many others at Therapy & Learning Center that worked miracles on my sweet, funny, and fiery threenager! Samuel has already had this meal twice and is looking forward to it again tonight! 🙂 Praise be to God for His provision over this miracle child.

Hey Rockers!!!!! Can haircuts be a challenge for your family? It is in our household. Friday November 3rd from 3:00-6:00 Sam Michael-Pearson from Kutz and Kolorz will be in our gym to cut hair.

This will be a sensory friendly cut to help your child feel more comfortable as they get their haircut.

There are limited spaces available. Each haircut will be in a 20 min time slot, with their haircut children get 1 hour of Open Play.

Our first night in the new series “Let’s Talk Behaviors,” was packed with adults as we learned together and had a great time of partnering together to parent and care for kids. And from the looks of the gym, the kids had a pretty great time too!
