Today we got some fantastic news as Mike Neil has been promoted to General Manager of F.P. Miller Co. 🥳🥳🥳🥳

As Craig L. Ward was Mikes' mentor, friend and pretty much family. Couldn't think of a better candidate! Congratulations Mike!!😁🍻

Happy 63rd birthday in heaven Craig L. Ward ! You are greatly missed here at FPM. Everyone got donuts today in celebration of you! It's so difficult to not see your gleaming smile every morning. Your optimistic mindset got us all through tough times. You are a man that will always be toasted and remembered fondly!

Today is a sad day for F.P. Miller Co.

We have lost a serious piece of our puzzle. Craig L. Ward went to heaven. If you asked him who he was he'd say "I'm just a farm boy from a small town" He knew more about his employees than most, he truly got to know those around him and touched every life he came into contact with. The beautiful little things about life and living were his conversations. He was a true inspiration to all and his sunshine spirit will definitely be missed. Please say a prayer for the Ward family during this most difficult time! 🙏💛

Posting this one day early. Tomorrow August 18th will be my 37th year at F P Miller Company. I started off with a BS degree sweeping floors and doing time sheets, then on to sales (just barely knew what a lathe or mill was), then sales manager until 2001, when Steve Miller my boss at the time, gave me an opportunity to oversee the company as the GM. I would not have ever reached this point with-out the awesome mentoring/training (and faith) of some pretty awesome folks like Gene Hasse, Allan Blank, Leo Miller and Steve Miller. At 63 in December, I don't have too many years left in the business. It will be bittersweet, but also time to hand the "reins over". The Miller family has been good to me "in sickness and in health". I know folks like me are dinosaurs, when i started there were no cell phones, fax machines, digital cameras or push button phones or e-mail...lol I know not many stick it out at one place for their entire career, but also if you just stick to it, always growing and learning maybe you will find a place that isn't work but enjoyment.

Figured we would give this a shot. Kind of outside of the standard way of posting open positions but what the heck, maybe I will be "with the times" now. Feel free to share. Due to a couple of recent retirements F P Miller Company is actively seeking employees to fill two positions. First is an electrician/ panel builder and secondly is a machine tool repair/ machine tool builder. F. P. Miller is located in Jackson, MI and is celebrating 78 years of business. Today we say good-bye to one of our great technicians/machine builders Dave Bristow. Dave is officially retiring after having over 40 years of experience in the machine tool building industry, a little over eight years of service here at F. P. Miller Co. All of us wish Dave the absolute best in his retirement and thank you for your efforts here at F P Miller Co, you will be missed.

For many years, we have been in a program with Ella Sharp to rent a local school aged students artwork
This year it also came with a poem written by another child from a different school. Of course I picked early so there were lots of choices, but this one was perfect, it is awesome and more awesome because it is one of our own. Shout out to Ella Humphrey a tenth grader at Springport high school and her amazing instructor Heidi Rhodes!! The poem is by Carter Betke who is in 8th grade at Grass Lake Schools. Great work by all!

Each year we take a photo of the employees here at F.P. Miller Co. To honor our Veterans on Veterans Day. We have employees from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. We thank these folks for their service!!

Happy Monday everyone! Pictured below is a customer owned Blanchard -42 that they sent in for us to remanufacture. Besides the normal scope of work necessary for remanufacture, we replaced the old controls with a new Allen Bradley touch screen PLC and Marpos in process gauging. If you have an older Blanchard whether it be big or small, servo drive or standard machine, contact F P Miller Company. We can provide total remanufacturing or component rebuild like spindles, gear boxes and Etc. We have over 40 different Blanchard Grinders in the warehouse ranging from 16" to 100". Most importantly we have an awesome team of very dedicated, highly skilled machine tool technicians/builders on staff.

Air Compressor Repair Technician

Job Description:

Repairing, servicing and trouble-shooting Industrial Air Compressors and Air Dryers at various customer locations (field service). Be able to install (Piping & Electrical) Compressors, Air Receiver tanks and Air dryers.

· Types of air compressors: Rotary Screw, Rotary vane and Reciprocating

· Types of Air Dryers: Refrigerant and Desiccant type air dryers.

· Salary range $19-$28 per hour (Depending on experience) + Health insurance, Benefit package (401K retirement plan, paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, uniforms)

Requirements:

Clean driving record, Chauffeurs license is a + (Driving service van)
Be able to pass drug test
Good communication skills, (dealing with client/customers directly)
Have a good assortment of hand tools (wrenches, Screw drivers, tool carrying case)
3 + years’ experience in Industrial maintenance or Air Compressor repair or Refrigerated HVAC repair (Refrigerant license is a +)
Experience in Threading and installing cast iron piping
Some over-time required (normal hours 7:00-3:30 M-F)

We took a sweet break and we had another friendly bake off here at F.P Miller, this time we did brownies!!!

Next bake off scheduled is going to be banana bread.
