Help us renovate a new space for our ABA company, organized by Sacha Irons 09/13/2023

We're Growing!

Successful Child ABA Therapy, LLC is working to expand to a new building. As our buisness continues to grow, we would love to offer new and exciting services to the children of our community. The new building will give us the ability to provide new services like a 4-hour enrichment center for children aged 2-5 as well as increase capacity for other ABA services.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of work that needs to be done before we will be able to move into the new space. We have started a GoFundMe so that you may be able to contribute to the neurodivergent community in a meaningful way. Please consider supporting either by donating, or sharing this link to others so that we can give these children the best opportunity for success.

This group is looking for feedback to advocate for a change with TRICARE ACD program.

This post was found and copied from a different advocacy page, it is not the property of this company.

“PARENTS! We need to hear from you. How has your experience with TRICARE ABA been since the 2021 changes? Mission Alpha Advocacy will use the survey results to inform Congress and DHA.

Providers--consider emailing your parents the link and asking them to respond. Don't email with your parents? Consider printing out the survey QR code and handing to parents at the start or end of session. Have a great relationship with EFMP? Why not drop some printed survey QR codes at EFMP? Distribute to developmental pediatricians or other providers you know to help spread the word. The more parents we hear from the more legitimacy their thoughts, opinions, and experiences hold. This is the way to change, please help! “

👏 HUGE shout out to our RBT’s!! 👏

RBTs. I appreciate you.

A few months ago, I covered two 4 hour sessions for an RBT. It has been quite some time since I've done a 1:1 session that long. The session was full of play, group activities, song and dance, and arts & crafts. It was a lot of fun! Also, I was EXHAUSTED!

The amount of energy RBTs put in on a daily basis is amazing. There is no way any of you could be in this field if you didn't love the kids you are working with, and it shows.

RBTs, I see your effort. I see your dedication. And I see how much you care. You mean everything to a lot of people, and you carry this field.

Thank you!

Suggested in another group but thought I would share. I have not had a chance to read it yet, but will be soon.

Book recommendation! Uniquely Human - A different way of seeing autism by Barry M. Prizant, PhD.

“Autism is usually portrayed as a checklist of deficits, including difficulties interacting socially, problems in communicating, sensory challenges, and repetitive behavior patterns. This perspective leads to therapies focused on ridding individuals of autistic symptoms. In Uniquely Human, Dr. Barry M. Prizant suggests a major shift in understanding autism: Instead of classifying "autistic" behaviors as signs of pathology, he sees them as strategies to cope with a world that feels chaotic and overwhelming. Rather than curb these behaviors, it's better to enhance abilities, build on strengths, and offer support that will naturally lead to more desirable behavior and a better quality of life. In fact, argues Dr. Prizant, attempts to eliminate autistic behaviors may actually interfere with important developmental processes.

Including inspiring stories and practical advice drawn from Dr. Prizant's four-decade career working in universities, schools, hospitals, and in private practice, Uniquely Human offers a compassionate and insightful perspective that parents, professionals, and family members will find uplifting and hopeful.” (Goodreads)
