Wow! The quilting group made 22 lap quilts that they donated to St. Elizabeths. All the lap quilts were beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talents with the community!

Today at the Janesville Senior Center, "A Salute to Those Who Served: America's Veterans" program. The program began with a pancake breakfast. Thank You to Janet, Rosemary and Sue for all your help! Special Thanks to the VFW VVA Honor Guard for posting and retiring the flags. The Janesville Senior Center Choristers enhanced the program with wonderful Patriotic songs! Mark Finnegan from the Vets Roll program spoke about the amazing trip taken to Washington. Thank you for all you do for the Veterans! The program ended with a Quilt Raffle, which raised $935. The money was donated to the Vets Roll Program. The beautiful quilt was made by Pat from the quilters. Congratulations Joyce on winning the quilt! Thank you, Veterans, for your service.

This afternoon we had a Halloween Costume Contest. Our contest winners are 1st place- Jerry Cox, 2nd place- George McRoberts, and 3rd place- Gay McRoberts. Who doesn't love a costume contest. Happy Halloween!

Fun Mystery Trip yesterday. A visit to Historic Auto Attraction (so much to see), lunch at the Rock, Nicholas Conservatory (and we made lip balm) and cupcakes from Fatt Cats Cafe. Everything was delicious.

This program is meant to include all veterans and those persons who wish to honor them. These veterans have enabled all of us to enjoy our nation’s freedoms. We hope you will join us to honor these men and women, our veterans at this breakfast event. We will have Mark Finnegan here to talk about Vets Roll and pick the winner for the quilt raffle. Choristers will be performing some patriotic songs. Please register by Thursday, November 2nd.

Music is in the air at the Janesville Senior Center. Join the Blue Velvet Bans on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month beginning at 9:30a.m. to enjoy the music and dancing!
Congratulations to the Janesville Senior Activity Center and Manager, Linda Kleven for receiving the Edison Bell Einstein Award from the Wisconsin Association of Senior Centers on September 28 at the WASC Fall Conference in Fond du Lac, WI. This award was for the intergenerational project to benefit local veterans on the 4th of July with the help of St. Paul's School first graders. The project was held in May.
Senior Fair was a success and Congratulations to Gay McRoberts for winning the free day trip sponsored by our terrific Senior Center Board! As you can see Linda and Vicki really went all out with their theme of the Wizard of Oz.
