Hello everyone! My name is Ms. (Amy) Lawrence. Since last January I have had the pleasure of teaching art here at Washington Elementary. I am super excited to have stepped into this position. The Washington Elementary community has been so welcoming of this transition.
On this page I plan to resume posting student work, and fun art room happenings. Keep a watch out for what’s to come!
A little bit about me:
- I grew up further north in a small vacation town Hatfield, WI. I graduated with the class of 2016 from Lincoln High School in Alma Center, WI.
- After graduation I continued my education at the University of Wisconsin- Marshfield/Wood County. I completed two years of schooling there, fulfilling most of my general education classes.
- I then moved onto the University of Wisconsin- Stout for two years where I had many opportunities to be involved in the art education scene. I completed my student teaching in the wonderful community of Black River Falls, WI.
- I have five sisters and one brother, I am the youngest of all of them.
- I have a seven month old Boxer named Milo, he is always a crazy ball of energy!
- My art concentration at UW- Stout was drawing but I enjoy many other forms of art making from printmaking to sewing.
Hello Washington families, As most everyone know by now, I retired from teaching Art in Washington’s Art Studio in order to focus on my newest title as Grandma.
Ms. Amy Lawrence is now your new Art teacher. We are both very happy to be exactly where we are meant to be at this time in each of our lives. Ms. Lawrence will be joining me here on our page, as she is also excited to share all of the amazing work that happens at Washington Elementary.
I look forward to continue see your projects.
