Way back when, Turkic nomads had multiple tribes - Uzbeks & Uyghurs were both part of the “Karluk” tribe which is why we so many similarities with our textiles, food, and language!

When we become accustomed to things sometimes we lose sight of their value. What’s something you feel grateful for?

For me - I’m really grateful for the ability to go to the grocery store & get whatever items I’d like. It seems so ordinary but it’s really such an incredible blessing to have clean water and not worry about where my next meal is coming from.

We live in a country full of food deserts and an estimated 17 MILLION CHILDREN struggling with hunger ... and at the same time we throw out 80 BILLION pounds of food each year 🇺🇸

This Ramadan please consider donating to a local food bank or even sharing some of your iftar with a neighbor. You never know who is struggling with this & it never hurts to share.

I really loved this poem because it resonated so much - there are so many firsts that I am thankful for alhamdulilah. I will never forget the first time my grandma came to visit me & Sai at , for us it’s just a regular school but when we showed her around she looked soooo amazed. Seeing the library she kept saying she couldn’t believe that a building that big was full of books. She was married by the time she was 15 & didn’t get to experience so many things what we were able to. There is an incredible guilt I feel sometimes when I think about this - because I wish so badly that every other woman in this world had the freedom and privileges that we take for granted. But I’m so grateful for everyone that paved the way.
