Celebrating the holidays and each other with oysters, chili, sweets, and freestyle under the oaks. 2023 was certainly a great year for Sarah and her riders, and they have each set some great goals. Iron Horse heads into 2024 with a strong, dedicated team and a brand-new arena coming in January. Thank you for a wonderful year, and we will see you at the barn! 🐴🌲🐂

Winter Wonderland 2023 Winter Wonderland Dressage Show at Stableview in Aiken, SC! Alhambra got a 65% at Intermediate A! I’m so pleased with our first attempt together at a rated show and we are solidly on our way …

We had an incredible couple of days here at The Stables at Iron Horse. Teamwork and balance were the themes both inside and outside the ring. Our riders and auditors learned more about Working Equitation from trainer Jane Renner. This discipline combines the fundamentals of dressage with the precision of riding through a series of various obstacles related to cattle work. Jane shared the philosophies she has developed incorporating the rider’s ability to connect with the horse on a much deeper level and produce a unique type of trust between horse and rider. A huge thank you to all who helped create our course; Jane Renner, Elizabeth Sharpe, Sarah Sharpe, Carol Lasnier, Robert Shaw, and of course the amazing Miguel! Thank you to our haul-ins and auditors, it was a pleasure to meet you. We look forward to hosting more clinics in 2024.🐂🐴🐂

Chicago bound! Excited to spend the next week at Lamplight for the USEF Dressage Festival of Champions for the FEI 6yo Test. Tune in to USEF Network on Friday and Sunday morning! I’m just happy to share the ring with some amazing horses and riders and will enjoy the ride!

An absolutely perfect morning for riding in the river pasture. For a couple of hours there was a hint of fall in the air. 🌳🐎🌳

We are thrilled for our riders, owners, and trainer, Sarah Sharpe. This group has worked extremely hard and their exhausted smiles on Sunday said it all. We also understand The Camden Tack Room enjoyed having them as well, we are going to have to add another tack room! 🐴🏆🐴

Great night, with great people, eating great food, all for a great cause! The Stables at Iron Horse enjoyed a fun dinner at Minero Johns Island Giving Back Night benefiting Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, Inc. We were missing a few folks, so we look forward to doing it again and bringing the whole barn. 🌮🐴🍹

On any given day at Iron Horse, there are so many opportunities to observe and learn. Watching trainer work with her green draft-cross Hamilton is a unique chance to learn more about the importance of foundation work. Here Sarah works on teaching steering while lunging. Hamilton is already a barn favorite, and we can't wait to see this pair develop. To enjoy the ride, we must understand it's so much more than just a ride. 🐴🤎🐴

Under the moon, next to the river. The horses boarded at The Stables at Iron Horse are fortunate to have two full-time live-ins to watch over and care for them after hours. These staff members have thirteen years combined experience living and working with our horses, learning the personalities and mannerisms of each horse.
