Let’s talk hand positioning! 🖐🖐🖐
You may hear your instructor give suggestions for where to hold your bike during different portions of your ride and here is why..
💦Position 1: Used in the warmup, seated flats, and when intensity is light. Can also hold the outer corners of the handles with thumbs wrapped in.
💦Position 2: Creates more stability and opens the chest for optimal breathing and wider arm positioning. Best for riders who can still keep a comfortable bend in their arms and relaxed shoulders. Also helps to target abdominal muscles in seated climbs and standing flats.
💦Position 3: Used when standing with heavy resistance for climbs, jumps, or standing portions of sprints and hills.
As always focus on relaxed shoulders and grip!
