A food shelf serving the local community thanks to the support of volunteers, donations, and grants.
We have fish sticks galore at the food shelf this month! Here's a simple recipe idea that mostly includes other ingredients that we offer. Give it a try and let us know what you think!

We have blueberries galore this month! Wondering what to do with them? Here’s one idea: Sour Cream Blueberry Muffins!
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 egg
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream (Or yogurt or greek yogurt with some milk to thin)
1 cup blueberries
DIRECTIONS:
In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light; add egg and stir well. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with sour cream to batter until well blended. Fold in the blueberries. Fill greased muffin tins about 1/2 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until done. Yield: 12 muffins

If you are looking to refresh your stash of reusable bags, please consider doing so this month. If you already have too many bags, please consider donating some to the Johnson Food Shelf. Our hours are Tuesday and Friday from 9:00-12:00 and Wednesday nights from 4:00-6:00. Thank you for your support!
If you are a community member in need of food, please visit the food shelf at 661 Railroad St. or call 802-635-9003 to arrange a delivery during open hours (Tuesdays & Fridays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 p.m. You do not have to live in Johnson to utilize our services.
