Whole Health With Holly
Hi, friend! I'm a Mental Health Therapist who helps women holistically heal from stress, anxiety and depression. I'm so glad you're here.
Jumping on this Instagram trend đ¤
â¨Cheers, friend! Glad youâre here.â¨
Iâve worked with women in individual therapy for over 10 years nowâŚcoming up on 15! 𤯠During this same time I was also going through my own health issues (autoimmune disorder, thyroid disorders, infertility) which led to lots of anxiousness.
I started using a mind-body-spirit approach to my own health and finally experienced what true well-being felt like.
I was already licensed in Mental Health but I got certified in nutrition, yoga, and functional medicine as fast as I could (and as fast as the testing would allow đ) so I could finally share the truth to health with my clients.
I combined these approaches into an all in one Whole Health Method so YOU can finally be treated as the whole person that you are.
Thanks for being hereâ¨
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk â¨
The first steps to take to start peeling back the layers of living off stress hormones + riding high on anxiety is exactly what Iâll be teaching in my upcoming masterclass â¨
â¨Perma spot on the feed since so many resonate đ
â¨Did you know you wonât absorb the nutrition from your food and drinks unless you hydrate your cells first? Did you know you canât thoroughly hydrate your cells with just water alone?
â¨The answer: liquid minerals + electrolytes
Table Rock! Itâs cliche but iykyk! Itâs where I spent my childhood summers, caught my first bass, jumped off my first cliff + rope swing, drove my first boat (and lastâŚI have no business being behind the wheel of a boat), and itâs the only place I would consider to get married âĽď¸
Now Iâm forcing the love of Table
Rock onto my children đ
My dad retired last year and has officially moved here full time. So any chance we get this summer, you know where to find us!
â¨Facial gua sha massage for increased vagal tone⨠In the school car pick up line no less. A big factor of the action steps I teach in my course is how so many heathy lifestyle practices can be done anywhere and everywhere đ¤
What connects the gut-brain axis? The vagus nerve. Facial massage helps tone the parts of the nerve that come into the face.
And, the more vagal tone you have the more resilient you are to stressâ¨
And, I think we can all use a little bit more of that today đ
If you know her you love her. And, even though my childhood was a little rough since she raised me as a Cubs fan (you can imagine), she is the very best âĽď¸
While YOU are sleeping, your body is:
đ´metabolizing
đ´detoxing
đ´digesting
đ´performing cellular turnover
đ´rejuvenating + repairing
đ´and of course, resting
Itâs pure medicine.
Sleep is so good for the mind+body we should ideally be doing it for a third of our lifetime.
Happy 7th birthday, Maverick Wade. You make the world a better place đ¤

Sprinkle of sea salt

â¨The gut-brain axis.
â¨Itâs how the neurotransmitters and hormones that *create* your mental health status get *created* in the first place.
âď¸keep from emotionally spiraling, lashing out, being over reactive to children
âď¸fits in to busy lifestyles
âď¸foster anxiety correctly rather than mask it
âď¸being intentional about addressing the things getting in the way of life goals
âď¸believing they do NOT have to live with anxiety
âď¸learning skills to prevent anxiety from taking over
âď¸not feeling judged or stressed out about health

Creating Calm Course students are absolute rockstars â¨
A lotttttt of clinicians get mad/annoyed/laugh at clients who try to diagnose themselves off of Dr. Google or some random social media account.
Iâve always loved these clients.
Theyâre trying. Theyâre searching. Theyâre asking. Theyâre wondering. They are self initiating their own healing process.
And in that I see: a willingness to learn, a thirst for knowledge, healthy curiosity, being a self starter, a willingness for changeâŚ
đgame changers in therapy
Plus, we have the entire internet at our fingertips anyway. Itâs gonna happen.
We just need to have professional guidelines to go along with it.
So, I made the Anxiety Self Assessment to walk you through the process. To give you the professional guidelines. And for YOU to decide for yourself if anxiety is present or not.

XO,

Think about the time you went through your biggest trial, trauma, hardship, difficult seasonâŚwhatever you wanna call it.
Then think about who you were then, and who you are now.
There is no way to go through difficult times, see it through to the other side and NOT be more:
*knowledgeable
*wiser
*empathetic
*relatable
*real
*insightful
*aware
It hurts to get there. Growing pains are real. Keep going.
XO,
Holly
When people feel a lack of motivationâŚitâs a problem. Itâs frustrating, itâs exhausting, it obviously makes life difficultâŚ
âď¸Itâs also a major marker in anxiety and depression.
For 1ď¸âŁ, youâre not completing the things that need done, or being the person youâre wanting to be. (And, that simply doesnât feel good.)
This is one of the most common conversations I have with clients.
2ď¸âŁ it plagues you with self doubt. This âuh ohâ feeling of âwhereâs my drive for things in life like I used to have?â
3ď¸âŁ itâs a disconnect of the self between our thoughts and feelings + actions.
The thoughts may be there (example: I want to get this project done) but the feelings and actions are missing (but I donât feel like it, I donât have the energy, Iâll do it tomorrow).
âśď¸ But, did you know this could all just simply be from inflammation? An inflammatory lifestyle looks like:
*chronic stress exposure
*using stress as your fuel source
*inflammatory foods/liquids
*sedentary lifestyle
*lack of quality sleep
*lack of sunlight + grounding
*excess EMF/blue light exposure
*not dealing with past trauma
â¨Now for the good news!!! Inflammation from these things is fully reversible. And, that fact is đ¤Ż
It was a HAPPY home-by-10:30 NEW YEAR đĽł
Much love to you all! Happy New Year âĽď¸ (here ya go .watercolors đđ)
1ď¸âŁAnxiety is inflammation so first things first - restore physiological balance by creating space.
Get rid of the systemic inflammation. Itâs the foundation.
2ď¸âŁThen rewire.
đ§ Cognitively the right frontal lobe and the amygdala have hijacked your experiences. Setting off the HPA Axis for the secretion of stress hormones cortisol + adrenaline.
Nothing is wrong with this process - itâs a built in safety mechanism and helps keep us alive.
But in the place of anxiety, itâs short circuited so to speak, and over active.
Through neuroplasticity - your brainâs ability to change (đ) - we want to start practicing left frontal lobe dominance and taming down the amygdala (the fear center of the brain) which is the initial siren đ¨ setting off the process for those stress hormones to get released.
Through Vagal Toning - meaning how strong your vagus nerve is - youâll be able to get to or maintain a parasympathetic state much quicker in the face of anxiety.
3ď¸âŁThen, maintenance + self growth. The icing on top. You get to choose what this looks like - your relationships, your self identity, your coping skills, living out your purposeful lifeâŚ
