Proof we used to be fun, right babe? 🤣 Now I have a full church service before and after a night out to prevent any aches or pains.
Our life is so different from 9 years ago, it’s full and crazy, but I am genuinely grateful to have you on my side.
😘 Happy anniversary ✨
July 2024 check-in 🌱
I honestly have no idea how to promote my services right now. It feels weird to show up and talk about food and nutrition, when there’s horrific violence and forced starvation in Gaza right now. And so many other places like Congo, Sudan, and even Hawai’i that need our attention right now.
And yet we still have bills to pay.
So, I apologize for being inconsistent here. I’ve been struggling on what it looks like to show up for this IG community, while also making space for my values and centering those who need help. But the worst thing we can do, is to be silent.
I am still here, showing up imperfectly because that’s what humans do. If you are looking for nutrition support, I have space for new clients in August. Link in bio for to schedule a free call and learn more. Mahalo to those who are still here 🫶🏼

Remember that part of the day where we need to call for a ceasefire? Yeah makes it easy.

Repost experts warn that in now constitute 80 percent of those facing famine worldwide, amid the continuing bombardment and siege.
“Currently every single person in Gaza is hungry, a quarter of the population are starving and struggling to find food and drinkable water, and famine is imminent,” UN human rights experts say.
“Israel is destroying and blocking access to farmlands and the sea, and using food as a weapon against the Palestinian people.”
Recent reports say that since the Israeli military’s ground offensive started on October 27, approximately 22 percent of agricultural land, including orchards and greenhouses. Israel has reportedly destroyed approximately 70 percent of Gaza’s fishing fleet, according to the experts.

4 in 5 people experiencing famine across the world are now in Gaza, says the World Food Programme’s chief economist.
In an interview with The New Yorker, Arif Husain said he has “never seen anything like” the food crisis Gaza is facing.
The UN reports the entire population of occupied Gaza is facing crisis levels of hunger due to the Israeli-imposed food crisis, with half the population starving and over 570,000 people experiencing catastrophic levels of hunger.
Israeli forces have systematically destroyed food stores and bakeries and are preventing adequate aid from entering the territory.
Happy new year!
Anyone else still in disbelief that it’s January and we’re rolling into life routines again? If you’re a resolution kinda person focusing on wellness, know that there’s so much more than making a weight loss goal.
I usually post about nutrition and wellness, but there has been so many important issues locally and in the world that need our attention. I’m not sure what this content will be look like this year, but I’ll continue trying to show up as authentically as possible.
Thanks for being here!

Honesty, always.
Remember that part where we need to call our reps? makes it so easy.
As a Dietitian, one of our many skills is being able to diagnose and treat malnutrition, and I am so furious that this is intentionally happening at the hands of the U.S!!! Malnutrition will only increase risk for many health complications (we are hearing about disease/infections spreading), and in these cases, can easily be fixed with provided food and water.

Israel has been illegally depriving 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza of food for over 9 weeks. A UN official said this week that half of those people—including children—are now officially starving.
9 out of 10 Palestinians in Gaza don’t have enough food to eat every day. Some are going multiple days at a time without food, all while trying to survive the living hell Israel has created.
There is no justification for Israel depriving millions of Palestinians of food. Israel’s relentless bombing and its restrictions on food and water amount to the crime of collective punishment. It’s unconscionable, and it’s illegal.
To save lives, click the link in bio to contact your reps and demand a permanent ceasefire.
We cannot even begin to discuss nutrition and health without food and water. These are basic human rights!

Water is life— which is why the first order of business under Israeli occupation is always to control water.
The devastation of this genocide doesn’t start and end with the bombs; water deprivation and pollution are connected to every other ailment and disease that Gazans face: thirst, hygiene, hospital treatment, dehydration, infections, and more.
Water is a human right. Israel’s attacks on Palestinians and their infrastructure and resources are calculated attacks that have been ongoing for 75 years.

According to the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs:
"On 4 December, 100 aid trucks carrying humanitarian supplies and 69,000 litres of fuel entered from Egypt into Gaza, about the same as the previous day. This is well below the daily average of 170 trucks and 110,000 litres of fuel that had entered during the humanitarian pause implemented between 24 and 30 November.
On 4 December, for the second consecutive day, Rafah was the only governorate in Gaza where limited aid distributions, primarily of flour and water, took place."
Rafah is the southern most governate within the strip, nearest to the Egyptian border. It is difficult to know how many Palestinians are currently in Rafah but it is normally home to 275,000 and is the smallest governate.
At most, it can possibly hold 500,000 Palestinians. That means almost 2 million are left without any access to food.
Palestinians are literally scavenging for food amongst the rubble.
Currently 2 million Palestinians in Gaza including 1 million children are literally starving.
45,000+ are injured with thousands undergoing amputations and receiving treatment for burns.
As dietitians and public health professionals, we know the short term and long term harms of malnutrition, starvation, and dehydration. We know the risks associated with drinking contaminated water. We know the importance of proper nutrition for wound healing and burns.
We know Palestinians in Gaza are at high risk.
Join the 1,550+ professionals demanding a ceasefire now. A ceasefire is only the first step, but we have to start there.
In our thousands, in our millions 🍉✊🏼🇵🇸

Today is day 41.
There are still 807,000 Palestinians in north Gaza where no aid can reach.
The displaced in Al-Shifa hospital are starting to cry out from starvation and dehydration.
Only 9 hospitals are still in service out of an original 35 in Gaza.
There is a serious epidemic of gastroenteritis amongst children in south Gaza where there is no clean water for them to drink.
Doctors are warning of the spread of typhoid fever and cholera.
The current blockade on food and water; attacks on hospitals and healthcare professionals in the Gaza Strip will have devastating effects on Palestinian health, growth, and livelihood for years to come.

This lahaina grown family has experienced so much trauma within a months time. Brandy and Nino’s eldest son, Keldyn, better known to our community as Kamauliola, was diagnosed with cancer at a young age. A few weeks later, they lost their home to the wildfires in lahaina, maui. They are currently flying to and from Honolulu for treatments for Kamauliola while being displaced from their home. Anything you can give to this family is greatly appreciated. Your prayers, thoughts and donations are greatly appreciated during these rough times for this family. mahalo ❤️
