You can’t fight a global health pandemic without adequate PPE.

Earlier this week, while the Governor consistently stands in front of boxes of PPE, the KCFD received 60 N95 masks for over 1100 firefighters and EMS professionals and many of our departments received nothing. While on a conference call today with Governor Parson, he stated that we should do the best we can and find providers of PPE. Governor, PPE does no good in warehouses.

If we are not adequately protected, then we increase the risk of transmission to our fellow first responders, to health care personnel, to members of our communities and to our families.

Enough is enough Governor get us the PPE we need to protect the communities we serve, our first responders, our healthcare workers, and our families.

Never leave cooking unattended, keep children at least 3ft back and always turn pots and pan handles in. This can prevent both devastating burns as well as fires in the home. KCMOFireDept
