The state of Kansas is again offering the Sunflower Summer program, giving families free tickets for their school aged children and up to two adults to over 200 attractions in Kansas!

5th grade had a great field trip to Science City on Friday. Thanks to our parent volunteers for helping sponsor.
5P designed a container to try & protect an egg dropped from the grand hallway bridge . Today they tested their contraptions.
Piper USD 203 announced today that it has been recognized as a 2023-24 PLTW - Project Lead The Way Distinguished School District. This honor is given to a select number of schools across the U.S. for providing broad access to transformative learning experiences for students through PLTW STEM curriculum. PLTW is a national nonprofit organization that serves millions of PreK-12 students and teachers in schools across the U.S., aiming to make every child in every grade STEM successful. Piper resident Jeff Miles, Director of Water Pollution Control which is a division of Public Works for the Unified Governent of Wyandotte County, talked to 5th graders Friday for their Future Ready unit. He talked about how his division cleans the water used in the county and gave tips on how households & business can assist in making the work they do easier based on what they send through their pipes.

Erin Reed, a substitute in the Piper School District, presented information on autism to students at Creek. It was a great way to celebrate and recognize Autism Awareness Month.
KCTV5 news anchor, Bill Hurrelbrink visited with the third grades classes to discuss weather patterns- Partnering with community members is such a great way to extend the learning outside of the classroom!
