Garfield Elementary is a neighborhood school in the Kansas City Public Schools. Located at 436 Prospect, Garfield has 610 students in Pre-K through 6th grade.
Garfield Elementary was built in 1962 after a school with the same name at 421 Wabash street was torn down the year before. The old school was a tall, brick building with a bell tower that had been in northern Kansas City since the late 1800s.
