Being honest with your kids encourages them to be honest, too. Create an open atmosphere for communication so they feel safe sharing their thoughts and feelings. When they understand the importance of honesty, they'll be more likely to come to you, even for difficult matters. ❤

Therapy isn’t easy, and it isn’t for everyone. It’s hard to go to sessions and to talk about the stuff we’d rather keep hidden; the things we’re embarrassed about, the traumatic things we’ve been through, the negative thoughts we have about ourselves and others. Saying these things out loud and facing them head on with a therapist is courageous. Therapy isn’t for the weak of heart, and as hard as it can be sometimes, you’re worth the effort.
