Our Crawford team recently visited the University of Maine Shawn Walsh Center / Alfond Arena project, which is currently underway!

We are collaborating with locally-based AE firm WBRC to renovate the existing ice arena and design a new 13,000 square-foot performance center. The renovation will provide state-of-the-art locker rooms and lounges for the Maine Women's and Men's Ice Hockey programs!

Our San Diego Crawford team members recently volunteered at the State Games of America an Olympic-style event that brings together top medal winners from State Games across the nation!

The Pechanga Arena came alive as thousands of athletes from 24 different sports marched in, resembling Olympic athletes proudly representing their country. From basketball to pickleball and yoga, the event featured exciting competitions between California athletes and top medal winners from State Games across the nation. Our team had an amazing time volunteering at this event.

Our Kansas City team brought their A-game to our annual Home Run Derby!

It was amazing to watch our team members swing for the "fences" and showcase their skills. The competition was fierce, and the energy was high, making it a truly memorable afternoon for all of us!

We are excited to share the new renderings for the Lee and Penny Anderson Arena at the University of St. Thomas!

This state-of-the-art facility will not only serve as the home for the Tommie basketball and hockey teams but will also host a wide range of events including commencement ceremonies, academic convocations, conferences, career fairs, and other university and community events. The designs were a collaborative effort between Ryan Companies US, Inc. and us at Crawford Architects.

In the News: New Renderings of the Lee and Penny Anderson Arena - Newsroom | University of St. Thomas The University of St. Thomas has released new renderings of the Lee and Penny Anderson Arena – the new home for Tommie men’s and women’s basketball and hockey.

During our team's visit to Orlando, they had the opportunity to attend the 2024 Department of Defense Warrior Games held at the ESPN Worldwide Sports Center!

Over the course of 10 days, more than 200 athletes from the U.S. military and Australia competed in 11 adaptive sports. The games themselves were an inspiring showcase of pure teamwork and courage and a testament to unwavering resilience and dedication. Since its establishment in 2010, this annual event has continued to honor and celebrate the spirit of these men and women.

Another NACDA conference is in the book!

We had the opportunity to hear from distinguished speakers, including a talk by the Las Vegas Raiders President, Sandra Douglass Morgan. Moreover, we were able to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. It was a great time exchanging knowledge and insights with others!

We had a blast cheering on the KC Current team alongside our amazing Crawford team members!

The energy was electric, the game was amazing, and the atmosphere was unbeatable. We had a fantastic time while supporting our local athletes!

Impressive strides are being made on the CFFC Performance Center project!

The CFFC Performance Center will be a team facility with the latest in training, rehab, and performance innovation. Along with comprehensive locker rooms and sports medicine facilities, the facility will also house offices for technical coaching staff, among other features. In addition, a seasonal air-supported inflatable structure will facilitate the ongoing use of one of the Academy pitches during inclement weather and throughout the winter months.

Our principal, David Murphy, played a pivotal role as the project director for the planning, design, documentation, and construction of Lumen Field from 1996 to 2001. Since then, the Seattle Seahawks have entrusted Crawford Architects with multiple renovation projects and studies during the off-season from 2007 to the present.

2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex's (SJAC) opening. This premier Division 1 athletics training facility at South Dakota State University has been an iconic symbol of excellence for a decade!

We are immensely proud to have contributed to the development of this remarkable facility that has shaped the lives and futures of so many athletes, including an eight-lane, 300-meter track and 100 yards of soy-based synthetic turf, along with space for sports medicine, athletic training, strength and conditioning, physical therapy, hydrotherapy, observation rooms, and office facilities. Looking back on the SJAC project fills us with a deep appreciation for the opportunity to have been a part of something truly special.

This week we participated in the 2024 Purple Party in support of the University of St. Thomas Athletic Program. As Lead Partners of this event for the past three years, it is always a special time for us to support more than 500 student-athletes at UST!

In addition to our time on campus we spent time at Viking Lakes - home to the Minnesota Vikings.
