✨ **Welcome Back, Akira!** ✨

It’s been a few years since we had Akira in the fit studio here at ACME, and we’re thrilled to see her crush it on the track and road! 🚴‍♀️

With a growth spurt since her last visit, things were feeling off and we wanted to make sure she’s as comfortable as possible on her current bike. 🛠️ We made a few adjustments:

- We set up her new shoes and cleats for great knee-hip-foot alignment utilizing some footbeds, cleat wedges and careful placement of the cleats.
- We changed the saddle to help her sit further forward and improve her back posture, core engagement and alleviate some back pain.
- We raised the seat height, lengthened the stem and raised the bars to accomodate for her growth.

It’s an honor to work with Akira, and her brother Enzo, throughout their growth on and off the bike.

This weekend - ACME x Rapha group ROAD ride led by . Sat July 13th - join us for a ride around Westchester’s roads as we circle around Croton dam. 55 miles. 4k ft. 100% paved roads. 2 food/water stops if needed. Meeting at ACME Katonah at 9:30am, roll out by 9:45am. See you this weekend! ✌️ 📸

Both the gravel and road ride are leaving ACME Katonah at 9:30 am. If you haven’t already registered, head to the link in our bio to do so! For those of you not traveling to Neutral Ground/Katonah by car - here are some options! Mass transit - there is an 8:09 am Metro North train from Grand Central (8:19 am from Harlem 125th) arriving at the Katonah stop (down the street from ACME) at 9:20 am. We’re incredibly fortunate to have Lauren De Crescenzo joining us for this year’s Neutral Ground Expo! Lauren is a professional cyclist, celebrated for her many impressive victories including Unbound Gravel in 2021 and 2nd place in 2022. Lauren graciously shared some insights with us — “In 2016, I suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in a life-altering crash, which led to being airlifted and spending 7 days in a medically induced coma. Two months of rehabilitation followed, during which I relearned fundamental skills like walking and talking. Undeterred, I used cycling as a metric for my recovery progress. In 2018, while in graduate school, I discovered the burgeoning discipline of gravel cycling. Following the TBI, I had a renewed perspective on pain, which enabled me to win Unbound Gravel 2021.Following the Unbound win, I left my desk job behind securing victories at prestigious events like SBT GRVL, Tour of the Gila, The Rad Dirt, 2nd at US Pro Road Nationals, and 2nd at Big Sugar and Tushar Crusher. Fun fact: I held the Everesting World Record for 5 days! But it’s not just about racing, I’m committed to the crucial message of traumatic brain injury awareness. I want my performances to showcase tenacity, grit, and hard work in the face of adversity.” Lauren, we’re eagerly anticipating the opportunity to ride alongside you! 51 miles - 60% road, 40% gravel. Join us for a social ride around Westchester’s gravel roads and add a fresh layer of dirt to your gravel bike (recommend a gravel bike with at least 32c tires). We will regroup on top of hills. Riders should have group and gravel riding experience.
