To continue our celebration of black excellence in the outdoors for BHM, we wanted to share ’ story as the first African American and first black woman to climb Mount Everest. 💪
-Date: Tuesday, March 5th
-Time: 7:00pm - 8:15pm
-Location: Youth Room
-Price: Free! (Day Pass required for non-members)
features 5 female climbers from the U.S. and Canada converging on historic Hueco Tanks, Texas, to celebrate the fiery girl gang energy that naturally happens when you get a group of strong ladies together. These women are not pro climbers, but they’ve dedicated their lives to getting after it and climbing hard boulder problems whenever they can.
The film will also call attention to the Indigenous history of Hueco, and how climbers can responsibly and respectfully interact with such sacred ground. Girls Gone Hueco isn’t just about showcasing rad climbs, but also to show the world that women are stronger together than we are divided. But of course, there will be plenty of impressive sending going on too! RSVP at the Events section of our website.
Thank you to for visting and featuring our gym. Read the full feature via our link in bio!
In honor of Black History Month, we wanted to share some organizations and climbers we love to follow. It’s all in our best interests to keep pushing for this sport to be as diverse as possible and spotlighting the black and brown climbers who are pushing us forward.

We officially have announced Kevin Jorgeson joining Bouldering Project to ensure our gyms offer the best experience possible, including everything from climbing and routesetting to fitness, yoga, programming, events, and community spaces. We’re also here to remind you that you have a chance to climb with him at Brooklyn Bouldering Project tomorrow from 5-8pm. Link to RSVP in like in bio!
In 2015, Kevin and Tommy Caldwell’s ascent of Yosemite’s Dawn Wall brought a global spotlight to our sport and through his role as a professional athlete Kevin has been the consummate ambassador for climbing. While he’s known for establishing the world’s hardest big wall, his heart has been in the climbing gym.
Here’s what has to say:
“At nine years old, I walked into the grand opening of Santa Rosa’s first climbing gym. In 1995, it was amongst just a handful of gyms in California. I didn’t excel at climbing at first, but rather grew to it and with it. By 12, I worked there in exchange for Snickers Bars and free membership because I was too young for formal employment. I was a gym rat. It defined my adolescent day to day, my friendships and dreams. Through the years, I’ve filled every imaginable role required to operate a climbing gym. I’ve been a route setter, coach, builder, founder, leader and yes, I even cleaned the toilets. That gym and community provided the onramp into a professional career that carried me across the globe. In many ways, I’m still a gym rat, in love with the sport and its potential to make a lasting impact on lives the way it did for me. I’m honored to be joining the Bouldering Project.”
Some of our favorite climbing fits we saw come through the gym week 👀
🥁 Kevin Jorgeson (), globally recognized climbing legend, is Bouldering Project’s Head of Product! You may know him from his ascent of El Capitan’s Dawn Wall (he is still one of only three people to have ever free climbed it), and is now part of our team here at , where he will oversee the development of new gyms, community building, setting and programming.
We are all obviously super stoked about this, and even more excited to share that you can come meet and climb with Kevin next week on 1/9 and 1/10 at our gym! Join us and Kevin for a session, he’ll be around to give beta, and chat. On 1/10, we’ll have an informal Q&A where you can have the chance to pick his brain on everything from his experience on the Dawn Wall, to indoor climbing tips, entrepreneurship and beyond. Link in bio to sign up.
We were blown away by the enthusiasm today! It was amazing to see so many people lining up on NYD (some as early as 8!). People came from all over New York to climb. Here are a few faces we saw!

We are so excited to announce that Brooklyn Bouldering Project is opening on January 1st, 2024!
It’s been a long time coming, and after much hard work from our construction team, we are so pumped to have our community back in our brand new gym.
Building a gym is no easy feat, and we’ve completely renovated the space to introduce custom-built Bouldering Project walls, a brand new heated yoga studio, fitness and cardio spaces, training area with 12x12 Kilter and Tension 2.0 boards, co-working area, and a fun and exciting youth space.
We are still running our $99 Founding Membership rate, but the price goes up on opening day, so lock it in now! Our DMs are open with any questions, and you can see all the details on founding memberships on our website.
Lat night we hosted our very first member yoga class in our finished yoga studio! Stay tuned for some public classes from next week onwards. ‼️
We’re getting really excited about the progress here - we’ve completed:
🟢 All three free standing boulders
🟢 Heated Yoga Studio
🟢 Climbing Training Center (just need to hang the hang boards)
🟢 Youth Room
🟢 Fitness equipment - we receive our final delivery on Monday!
🟢 Locker rooms and showers
🟢 Extra changing room
🟢 Back of house / staff areas (setting room, facilities spaces, staff room, etc.)
What We’re Finishing Work On: The bouldering terrain along the east wall
On slides 2-4, what you’re seeing are steel frames that are all in the ground, half the wall is ribbed (ribs create versatility and angles within the terrain) and sheeted (the sheets are parts of the wall that you climb on). It’s currently being epoxied and sanded (which creates seamless terrain) so we’re making great progress. 💥
Want to get stronger before our grand opening? 💪 We got you. We have a simple-to-follow at home training plan that you can use to maintain or improve your upper body, finger and core strength. You can download this free six week training program in our link in bio.
‼️‼️ Our team began setting one of our free standing boulders this week 🎉 ‼️‼️
