Apple Tree provides delicious meals, housekeeping, transportation, and activities in our beautiful one-level living facility. Come see our fish and birds!
We are delighted to share a few pictures from our Ladies Day and Dudes Day events:) Our residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves! We had some great musical performances and some amazing food!
A recap of our May activities! We saw so many beautiful views on our scenic drives throughout the month. Our amazing kitchen staff treated us to some tasty Cinco De Mayo food! We were able to attend some tours at the new Layton temple! Then one of our staff members ran an armchair travel activity about Italy. We got to learn more about the Italian language and culture while enjoying some delicious Italian treats! May was such a great month!
We had so much fun bowling today over at Davis Lanes! There were lots of cheers and laughs! It was a great way to end the day:)
Yesterday our friends from Viewmont High played bingo with us, it's always great to have them here! Today we played balloon tennis with our management team and had fruit kabobs for Fun Food Friday! What a wonderful day!
Some new friends came a couple times this past week to help us make jewelry. We had a lot of fun with them!!!
What a treat to have 1st graders from Knowlton Elementary visit us today! They performed a wonderful music program and sat down with each resident to read and chat. Before they left, they even presented residents with Easter crafts. It was so sweet to see their interactions and the smiles on the residents faces. We can't wait to have them back!
Hey Friends! I am hiring for an Activities Director at my Kaysville location. Looking for someone with a fun personality that loves the elderly. Please share! Hiring Immediately!
We had so much fun at our "Pies, Peeps & Pastries" family event this past Saturday! Thank you to the friends and family that came to show their love and support to our amazing residents. And a big thank you to Brina, Katie & Addy for helping me with setup, serving & cleaning. Happy Easter!
We "traveled" to Ireland this week via DVD & homemade Irish Soda Bread with raspberry honey butter. Followed that with a fun game of Wii Bowling where we welcomed back a player after a long hiatus. Even when they are opponents, it's so sweet to witness the amazing teamwork amongst our residents as they share helpful tips to help line up the best shots. Happy Friday!
Hello, Spring! It's weird going from St. Patrick's Day crafts to coloring Easter eggs in just a week, but it's that kind of year! We've been busy crafting & enjoyed an awesome outing to Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch yesterday. Beautiful weather!
"This feels like a family."
Well, isn't that the best thing to hear during a friendly (most of the time) game of Uno Attack!? I love having multiple activities going on to fill the room with a little of this and a little of that. It creates a comfortable space where residents feel like they can come hang out & do their own thing, or jump in the middle of a game of Uno, bowl, color, or start a puzzle, all while playing Name That Tune because singing & chair dancing is fun, too!
Hoping for spring with our tissue paper trees & flowers craft this week. Plus, an early St. Patrick's Day 🍀 treat (we all need a little gold at the end of the rainbow, right?) and new hand massage therapy. I promise our lovely ladies enjoyed it, they just forgot to smile for the pictures - ha!
Holy cow, we just had the best laugh (& workout) with a "new" old chair dancing video! I warned them it was from the 80s, but we were still surprised at the bright leotards, super enthusiastic instructors & jazzy instrumental music. We laughed and moved through the whole thing. This was a great Friday morning!
Fun projects this week...Leap Year Frog Keychains & Music Therapy with Maddie, plus some Group Sudoku to name a few. It is amazing to watch our individual minds work through Sudoku puzzles. In a group setting, we get to talk out the strategy & help each other fill in all of the numbers. Team work!
The weather is a little dreary, but we're staying cheery (sorry, had to do it) with Presidents' Day Red, White & Blue flower art, karaoke & a great new band "The Jeppsen Boys." Happy Wednesday!
Busy week of festivities with Mardi Gras Mocktails, a brunch outing, & our Valentine's Day Celebration mixed in with our regular to-do list. Good times!
These folks sure know how to party! Super Bowl LVIII kicked off our party week here at Apple Tree. Special thanks to our amazing dining staff (Adam, Josh, Grace & Emma), and residents Jonathan & Renel for their generous technical support. We have a lot going on this week, so stay tuned for updates!
We're always learning here at Apple Tree. I love watching this group teach each other new games & try new activities. Whether it's a new marble game that a beloved resident brought to share, a new group Sudoku activity (they taught me!), a new boxing exercise, or a challenging puzzle in BINGO, they help each other step-by-step.
Love is in the air at Apple Tree (along with snow!). A fun week so far with Valentine's crafts, a yummy DIY pudding snack and karaoke, to name a few. We've also been lucky enough to have youth groups drop by for visits in the evenings. This is a great community!
We are so lucky to have the best performers come & entertain us here at Apple Tree. Such a talented group! The residents always look forward to their visits.
A new month means new activities! These rockstars tried out a new stretching activity and a new book club with me today and they were awesome. Don't worry, we still did our Thirsty Thursday drink cart and loved on Willow, Marci's wonderful therapy dog.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day for an outing to the Layton Hills Mall food court for lunch, followed by manicures, trivia, puzzles & Wii bowling. It felt like spring out there, not the end of January!
When people who never come to activities come to activities…
When you see gentle sways, eyes closed & using their hand as a microphone during Name That Tune…
When you hear “I love you & I’m glad you’re here” between a long-time resident & a brand new resident in one corner of the room & hugs between two others in another corner…
When you have a full room with online crosswords, coloring, puzzles, Thirsty Thursday AND the podiatrist going on…
It was a really great day!
A bingo day is always a good day, but it’s extra fun with a few exercises thrown in! We followed that with a new snowflake craft that surprised everyone with their talent, plus music therapy with Maddie.
Loved watching the pure happiness and joy on our resident’s faces during our resident Christmas party yesterday. We had games, gifts, and beautiful music. We want to thank those who donated and made this possible. Merry Christmas to everyone from the staff at Apple Tree.
We had a wonderful Christmas Celebration with the community and our residents. We even had residents come from Apple Village to join us! We especially want to thank the "Chosen by God" choir that came and sang for us! And of course we're so grateful Santa could come for a visit! We have the best staff! Merry Christmas from Apple Tree Assisted Living!!!
We had one BEAUTIFUL scenic drive today! Deer, waterfalls, and a view of the valley. ♥️
