Our Story
In 1976, four college professors worked together to found "Educational Data Services,” a company that initially provided educational test scoring and statistical services. After incorporation, the name was changed to “EDS Computer Systems, Inc.,” and the company began to supply computer systems in addition to testing services. Later, the company changed its name to Systems Atlanta, Inc., with one of the original four founding partners, Charley G. Dobson, serving as Chairman of the Board.
Today, Systems Atlanta, Inc. (SAI) is the industry leader in Information Display System (IDS) design, development, and implementation. Over the past 32 years, SAI has delivered IDS Model 1 through 5 solutions to aviation and non-aviation users alike. SAI’s IDS products provide immediate access to dynamic information from multiple real-time status sensors (e.g., weather, flight information, etc.). This information is consolidated with aeronautical references and manually entered data on a common integration and display platform for rapid access and interaction by the end user. The IDS data distribution networks link diverse ATC and aviation environments for net-centric information sharing.
SAI’s current IDS4/5 product lines are operational in well over 500 civilian and military ATC/aviation facilities that include RADAR and Tower facilities, Ramp Control facilities, Airline/Airport Operations Centers, and Airfield Management/Base Operations facilities.
In mid-2018, SAI’s Skills Training division began providing professional training and certification testing related to all facets of information technology and cyber security. SAI provides Government Department of Defense (DoD) 8570.1-M compliance training and professional skills development courses to private industry personnel.
