Equinox botanical boutique
Someone asked me one day how I can tell when someone needs a massage. My reply was "Everyone needs a massage." Classes offered when safely possible
and as a botanical boutique I have to say "plants make people happy!" A sense-a-tional place to visit for awesome houseplants, seasonal herb and vegetable plants and cool pots in a wide variety. A botanical boutique filled with plant and garden supplies, fun gifts, local artwork, a large variety of beeswax candles and much much more.
String of Buttons, an easy peasy succulent with just the right amount of funkiness!
Open today 12-3
Pumpkin On a Stick or ornamental eggplant is a beautiful inedible plant I’ve grown from seed for many years.
The plants have been available for sale on our spring veggie/herb plant sale, so those of you who have grown it, know how fun it is!
They’re maturing a bit early this year, and the scarlet color is so vibrant. But what I love is how when dried, they turn orange. Pumpkin orange! 🎃
Stems will be for sale just in time for your autumn decor. 🧡
We’re open today 11-4, so stop in and check out our gorgeous plant delivery 🪴
Happy Friday Friends! Who else is loving the cooler temps? If you’re not don’t worry as the warmer days will be back next week.
But it sure is great sweatshirt and plant shopping weather🪴🪴🪴
Especially since we received a large plant delivery this week.
And just a reminder, when you purchase your plant and pot on your visit we’ll pot it up for you FREE! Perfect if you’re on your way to a party and need to pick up a gift. You don’t want to be a guest and arrive with empty hands.
Is the Helena your favorite?
I know I can’t choose but it sure is in the top 3.
Well cared for high quality pottery, can last for decades. With each year their beauty increases. If you’re a proud owner of a Berg’s pot, you know what I’m talking about.
Open today 12-3, but the next three Sundays we’ll be closed.
Houseplants simply adore being outside. Afterall, it’s their native habitat living outside. But we’ve domesticated plants just as we have our beloved pets.
And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that!
As a matter of fact, I think there’s another one that was talking to me yesterday at the shop saying “please take me home!”
And so, I will.
There are never too many plants!
I’m super excited to try Pappardelle’s Pastas newest additions, one being this Hawaiian Black Lava Salt tagliatelle.
I think I’ll make it with a simple EVOO, garlic and just a few freshly harvested garden tomatoes, shaved Parmesan Reggiano and parsley rather than basil.
Doesn’t that sound yummy? I’ll be sure to take a pic of the finished dish for you!
What are you cooking for dinner tonight?
Tiger Bee Fly hanging out on an Echeveria this morning. I did not recall seeing this insect not having any idea what it was so I had to do some identification search to learn its name finding out. It is a native fly, which can be beneficial, especially if you have carpenter bees, which can cause damage, although not severe, to carpentry fixtures, wood structures.
I don’t have this issue, but I’m not going to destroy this beautiful bee fly. You can hang out in my garden anytime.
Good Morning Sunshine 🌞
It’s a beautiful day for plant shopping🪴
Succulent compositions are so fun!
All you have to do is love and care.
Largest Goji Berry harvest of the season. 4 trays in the dehydrator and still more to come.
I’ve been asked what I’ll do with the dehydrated berries. They’ll be a super nutrient packed snack AND a great addition to granola I make in fall.
But I’d love to learn how you guys use them. Pancakes maybe? 🤔
If anyone is interested in growing Goji berries let me know! They’re perennial and so super easy to grow.
Oops! And there she is again. The Mother of Thousands being true to her name.
I love the combo she decided to create, but she’ll be outgrowing this pot soon.
Do you have a favorite MOT combo?
Open today 12-3
Here we go! It’s full blown Goji berry season. I’m picking like crazy and still hard to keep up. That’s the way it is but so worth it.
I hope everyone who bought plants last year or those I gave plants to from my garden, that your plants are establishing well and strong. Because before you know it, you’ll have an abundance of these super nutrient packed berries at your fingertips. They’re quite delicious too!
Stunning!
The hand glazed emerald green pots from Tuscany have to be our favorite of all the glazed pots in the world!
Here it’s showing off the Lucky Money tree! A must have plant for all homes AND businesses.🪴
What day is today? Why it’s already a Third Thursday WINE TASTING this evening from 5-7🍷
Dave our Wine guy, has several wives for you to sample this evening so we hope you’ll join us!
Let the pepper season begin!
Growing the garden from seed takes time. And peppers take more than tomatoes, for example. But it’s so worth it for several reasons. One being the variety available to you is endless. Literally hundreds if not thousands, of unique varieties are all available.
Pictured are a few I grew from seed. I harvested these for dinner last night but there are still quite a few more varieties in the garden.
It’s a fantastic pepper year. Some varieties will be planted again next year and some were “tests”. And then there are always new ones to try.
Here’s what’s in the pic
Cubanelle
Anaheim
Sugar Rush Peach
Purple Beauty
Candy Cane
I hope all you gardeners are having a great season. Please share photos, experiences and thoughts about your garden journey.
We’re open today 12-6
It’s a perfect day for fun and funky.
I hope stopping in the shop between 12-3 makes the list!
Happy Hoya Saturday friends!
Hoya Chouke
Did you know Hoyas are pet friendly plants? These beauties have that and so much more going for them. Easy, beautiful AND pet friendly to name a few.
Grow your own eucalyptus!
It’s super easy.
If you can, keep outside in full sun until 40 degree temps arrive, then being indoors and give full sun exposure until spring.
I started these from seed, which took forever to grow. But they’re happy, just waiting for a forever home!
MIDNIGHT ROMA
Simply beautiful and delicious.
First time growing and definitely one of the “forever on my list” tomatoes.
Don’t you love growing new varieties along with your favorites?
The favorites are like your favorite broken in t-shirt and sweatshirt. Same with the tomato in my opinion
But always wonderful, experiencing a new flavor. It might not become a favorite, but that’s ok.
What are some of your favorite tomatoes to grow?
I can’t wait!
Hope to see You there🎶💚🎶
The underside of strawflowers is just as beautiful.
When was the last time you looked at a flower upside down?!
Let the tomato season begin!
It’s tomato season🍅
The wait is over.
I can’t wait for the first Caprese! Tonight might be the night.
What’s your favorite way to use the first tomatoes of the season?
We’re open today 12-6. Can’t wait to see your beautiful faces!
Our community is heartbroken for the wonderful Coffee Pot girls Julie and Janis and their entire team of this sad news.

Patience is a virtue. This is true.
It’s a virtue gardening is still teaching me to develop more consistently.
Take yesterday for example.
I went out to the garden to harvest beans when the thought of the traditional summer dish I make using beans and potatoes whooshed over me.
I didn’t really even think about it again.
I just dove in! The leaves on the plant of this Root Pouch were about half brown. So I could’ve waited another week.
But I didn’t!
I still have 14 more bags of potatoes to harvest. But I’ll be patient, and wait. I made the potatoes and beans dish for dinner and it was so delicious. So I’m good now.
I do wait for a tomato to fully mature before plucking. Unless of course fried green tomatoes are on the menu!
