We wanted to make a second post today to highlight a couple of unusual plants that are at their most glorious this time of year (That is, if you don’t count their incredible fall color!) While the path of totality for tomorrow’s solar eclipse doesn’t include Washington State, you can bring an eclipse home with you today! This is the new Eclipse Hydrangea! It has beautiful dark sky foliage and showy mophead flowers that have a fiery red outline! These plants are beyond showy, and make a great addition to your garden!

Old Fashioned Bleeding Hearts aren’t so old fashioned these days! With a beautiful array of flower and foliage colors available, this tough early season perennial has never been a better choice for northwest gardens!

Rock Cress is a wonderfully tough and beautiful plant that more people need to know about! They boast a beautiful low growing habit and brightly colored late winter to early spring flowers that absolutely smother the foliage! Plant these great plants along rock walls or in raised planters where they will have lots of sun and good drainage. If they have that, they will be happy campers for many years!

Our Tall Oregon Grape is in full, glorious bloom right now and we couldn’t help but show them off! This native evergreen shrub is a favorite of all sorts of wildlife, and as such is pretty much a must have for gardens in the Pacific Northwest!

She is extremely knowledgeable about these friendly pollinators and is happy to share that knowledge and send you home with bees for your own garden! We have also taken the liberty of bringing in lots of fun pollinator friendly plants like Winter Bee Lavender, Saxifrage and Magical Gold Forsythia! Come check them out!
