National Siblings Day!!! Check out these 3!!!

During the last 10 months, Diann’s siblings have been nothing but strong, supportive and loving. Diann is the youngest of the three, and their bond is unbreakable!

Good Morning All!!!!

We’ve hit another milestone of $8,000!!!!! We thank you all so much and are so grateful for your generous donations and support.

We hope to see you all at the ice cream social on April 12th to visit with Diann Lindberg Keyser, have some ice cream, maybe a hot dog with Dallas sauce 😋 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

From her sister Nancy Lindberg Kell here is Diann's Story: On July 1st, 2022, at 9am, my sister Diann Lindberg Keyser parked her van on Broadway, across the street from the Kingston Hospital Wound Care entrance. She got out of her van, reached into the already open sliding door to get her purse and was hit by a speeding car coming from the opposite side of the street. She was thrown into the air. Mind you, my brother-in-law John Keyser witnessed this horrific accident.

Diann was brought back to life while still on the road. She was taken to the trauma center at Mid-Hudson Regional where she was assessed and transported via helicopter to Westchester Medical in Valhalla in critical condition. Diann was literally crushed from the waist down and not expected to live through the night. Upon arrival at WMC, Diann was rushed into a 9 hour surgery. I was finally able to see her at 4am July 2nd. My God, she was so broken. Legs, skull, sternum, ribs, back and pelvis! The doctor asked me to give him 48 hours and then he would let us know where we stood.

He came to get me 24 hours later, and said we were half way there, and that things were grim, but he had hope. After 3 more surgeries on her legs, we were told they could not be saved. It was at that point that our family asked God to make the decision on amputation for us. We just couldn’t do it. His answer was, it was Diann or the legs……we chose Diann. On July 9th, both legs were amputated above the knee.

After 95 days, 21 surgeries, 3 major infections that should have killed her, Diann was delivered to TenBroeck Commons for rehab on October 4th, 2022. My baby sister worked very, very hard to get back home to her husband and kids. On December 15th it finally happened. Her strength and determination is amazing.

Diann has to use a “slide board” to transfer from bed to chair, chair to car and this is extremely difficult for her. The chair is very heavy and must be folded and lifted in/out of the car. We can continue to use our vehicle, but it is so hard on Diann transferring in/out. When the weather is nice, the slide board works ok, but once that board gets wet, she is stuck, no sliding at all.

We want thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes, I do believe that is why she is still here.

******A van would give her more opportunities to get to all of her much needed appointments and therapies that will be ongoing for a very long time, to enjoy the life she always always worked so hard for and had, with her amazing and beautiful family.
