I lost a very old and dear friend today. He was a about my age and he was the family mailman when I lived on Washington Ave. We lost touch for a number of years when II moved in 1982. When he got transferred to a new route which included my store we reconnected . He was my mailman for many many years and we became good friends. On his days off he would hang out with me in my shop when he could. He became friends with many of my customers and just about anyone who came in knew him as their mailman. After he retired 15 years or so ago he would hang out several times a week, just about every week. He loved to talk and tell stores. He loved helping others when they needed it and he help me many times. RIP Pete. You will be sorely missed.
