There will be some changes to the traffic flow at the bottom of the hill. The biggest change is if you are coming to church from the East on 132nd street. If this is you, you will not be able to turn left to go up the hill. You can either keep going to 132nd ave and turn left and come back toward the church on 140th street or cut through the neighborhoods.

Travel under I-405 on NE 132nd Street will change this weekend, as left turns to head south will only be permitted onto Totem Lake Boulevard, and left turns heading north will only be permitted into the Woodlake Apartments. The shift is occurring overnight on Saturday, so if you use this intersection consider checking out the changes on Sunday, May 22 and bring your attention and patience. This intersection configuration was negotiated to keep Kirkland moving during this construction project, which is expected to be complete in November 2023. For any questions about the project, call the WSDOT project hotline at 425-224-2433.

I've just been reflecting on the past couple months of Lent and Holy Week culminating with Resurrection Sunday yesterday.

The benefits of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are delivered to you through means. What a great comfort this is!

Here is an excerpt from Luther's Small Catechism. You can read all of the catechism and the rest of the Lutheran Confessions at all www.bookofconcord.org

What is the benefit of such eating and drinking?

–Answer: That is shown us in these words: Given, and shed for you, for the remission of sins; namely, that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. For where there is forgiveness of sins, there is also life and salvation.

How can bodily eating and drinking do such great things?

–Answer: It is not the eating and drinking, indeed, that does them, but the words which stand here, namely: Given, and shed for you, for the remission of sins. Which words are, beside the bodily eating and drinking, as the chief thing in the Sacrament; and he that believes these words has what they say and express, namely, the forgiveness of sins.
