"Donating blood is a simple gesture that provides so much help to those in need. The donating process itself only takes about 10 minutes, depending on how hydrated you are! One blood donation gets divided into three separate components. That's three lives you could impact! You never know when emergencies are going to happen. By donating today, you could help make a positive outcome from a bad situation!"

ATSU Kirksville Family Medicine's Dr. Molly Thompson wants to bring attention to healthy habits during Melanoma Awareness Month this May.
"Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that can spread throughout the body easier than other skin cancers. The most important things we can do to prevent melanoma is wear sunscreen (and reapply!) and get regular skin checks. Any suspicious mole or marking on your skin that changes color, shape, or size should be looked at by your physician. Applying sunscreen now is easier than fighting skin cancer later in life!"
