Today we want to highlight one of the members of DO-Touch.NET for ! We are recognizing Robert Truax, DO a member of ours from Cleveland, OH!

"I graduated from Kirksville in 1999 having done the year-long undergraduate OMM fellowship. Brian Degenhardt was not only the faculty overseeing me then but also interviewed me in 1994 to get into school. I completed a Family Medicine Residency as well as Sports Medicine fellowship and currently I am an associate professor of OMM at Ohio University-Cleveland Campus, overseeing the Year 1 curriculum. My private practice is an OMM/Exercise clinic and I have Family Medicine residents rotate.

As is typical of maturation in our profession, I am becoming more keenly aware of the importance of palpation of the tissue. What I look forward with DO Touch NET is to exploring tissue palpation and where it intersects with muscle fatigue physiology. Osteopathic papers from over a 100 years ago discuss palpating fatigued muscles. Our current understanding of muscle fatigue is more precise and I want to better understand how muscle fatigue palpation and the notion of somatic dysfunction intersect."

Today we want to highlight one of the members of DO-Touch.NET for ! We are recognizing Almut Boltz, HP, BAO a member of ours from Berlin, Germany!

"I am trained in neuro-musculoskeletal treatments and have attended postgraduate trainings in biodynamic, pediatrics, gynecology and trauma from an osteopathic perspective. I have been a member of DO-Touch.NET since 2017. By participating in a study on the side effects of osteopathy, I became interested in scientific work. I was able to get to know this further a year later in 2018 in the laboratory of the A.T. Still Research Institute in Kirksville during a palpation training. In 2021, I started my master’s degree in osteopathy at the Vienna School of Osteopathy at Danube University Krems, which I completed in March 2023 with the clinic. My master’s thesis deals with the effectiveness of osteopathy on pain perception in women with endometriosis-associated pain. The evaluation is still ongoing. Being part of a network is an opportunity and challenge for me to continue to educate myself and develop skills beyond my daily practice."
