Changes to Technical Theater Program:
Good afternoon OCSA Families! We want to announce some changes for our technical theater program starting next year. Technical Theater classes will still run at OCSA – they are a critical part of our school and productions and valuable to our students. Technical theater will now be included in our Drama/Theater Arts major for both the listing of majors and auditions. Our audition forms are being updated to reflect this and we apologize for any alarm or confusion this may have caused.
Students wishing to partake of technical theater classes may indicate so on their audition forms for the Drama/Theater Arts major. All of our drama and theater majors will also have the opportunity to take these classes to ensure that our students receive a well-rounded experience in the theater arts.
Students currently enrolled in the technical theater major will keep their majors and be able to continue with their course progression.
We are working closely with district arts to ensure that any new course codes and descriptions selected are appropriate for our students and we will clearly explain the content of future technical theater courses. We want to ensure that our courses offer our students comprehensive and up-to-date education in all areas.
Please direct any further questions to Assistant Principal, Mrs. Lana Tessler at [email protected]
