Quartjar
Quartjar is a mighty rock juggernaut of epic proportions from Knoxville, Tennessee. Rockin' with loud electrical amplification.
The occasional jazz-metal-prog-blues outer space jam. Let's say it's blues-based, heavy, space rock with a variety of electrically processed guitar and bass sounds and drums. The lyrics weave narrative and impressionist phrasing together to, you know, tell stories and give impressions.
Tonight! Will Randall remember all his old lyrics? Nobody knows! Come find out!
Randall will sing some solo songs in December 20!

Happy Friday! Randall shares some pedal board love via the lovely Montana-based Rattlesnake Cable Company! Thanks, Hank and friends!
I'm so excited to announce a new section on our site! Pedal Line Friday. Who likes to look at pedalboards and see what's going on with them?
This week, it's our good friend Randall B. of Quartjar!
https://www.rattlesnakecables.com/plf/231006-randall-b/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=pedal-line-friday&fb=77f3b7bb
We need more submissions! All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!
We made the newspaper! Luke Brogdon says really sweet things about us in the new issue of Blank Newspaper.
Thanks to the crew at THE FUNHOUSE for kicking off their show Friday night with “Life’s Not Pretty,” the title track to our latest album, and for the cool things they had to say about it!
The complete Quartjar CD collection. Limited edition custom box set on the way?

Life's Not Pretty, by Quartjar 10 track album
We finalized tracking just a couple of months ago with Knoxville rock royalty: guest vocalist Rus Harper of Evil Twin/Teenage Love 13/etcetera fame. We were looking for a classic rock’n’roll scream and Rus understood the assignment. He generously gifted us with that little touch evil for our closing track “Hotblack Rises from the Grave.”
Hear it here: https://quartjar.bandcamp.com/track/hotblack-rises-from-the-grave.
Behind the music: Our title track to "Life's Not Pretty" is destined to be an interplanetary hit. It features piano by Mark Radice and chorus vocals by Beth Tomkins, Crow Walker Crowe, and Sonya Easterday. Enjoy!

Here’s a look at the finalized cover for our new album, “Life’s Not Pretty.” We had some last-minute font juggling for the title, but we ended up with a good one. That teddy bear was photographed in the wild by Tory Lee Flenniken. The album hits streaming and download sites on July 28!
Thanks, Locals Only, for spinning our 2020 single “End-Times Tango”! The remastered 2023 version sits in the middle of our upcoming album “Life’s Not Pretty.”
The Greater Quartjar Rock’n’roll Council has voted us the best rock’n’roll band in the southeast region for the 13th year in a row. We want to thank the council for their support and for always believing in us. It’s an honor just to be considered. We look forward to the award ceremony at our next rehearsal. We do it all for the fans.
Our 2020 digital single “End-Times Tango” recently hit 100 plays on Apple Music! We’ve remastered it this spring to include on our new album, “Life’s Not Pretty”— set for release Friday, July 28. 🤞🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
