Break legs, Estrella!

This weekend, catch LHTG Alum, Estrella Burks-Parra, in Washington and Lee University's Tartuffe!

There are two more virtual performances:
https://livestream.com/wlu
Saturday, October 17th @ 7:30 pm EST
Sunday, October 18th @ 2:30 pm EST

"Tartuffe" in this translation was first performed at The Royal National Theatre in 2002, Trevor Nunn, Artistic Director, directed by Lindsay Posner.
"Tartuffe", (also titled "The Impostor" or "The Hypocrite") is Molière's masterpiece of dark political comedy. Banned from the French stage when it was written, the play explores religious hypocrisy, power, and one comedic villain's masterful manipulation. Indeed the title character is himself a creation of genius, one that has played successfully in every year since the ban on the play was lifted in 1669. Molière did for comedy what the Greeks did for tragedy-uplifted it to an art form of the highest caliber. Washington and Lee's production celebrates the comedy, recreating the genius of Molière's brilliant satire of French society in full period style!
No tickets are required.

2018/2019 Mainstage Season “Willing to be Better”

Named one of the Nation's Top High School Theater programs (Stage Directions Magazine, 2013), the La Habra Theater Guild offers students comprehensive opportunities both inside the classroom and out. With a full season of 8 to 9 shows every year, Theater Guild students experience theater in a "hands-on" learning environment that is modeled after the professional entertainment industry. Through rigorous and project-based coursework as well as some of the finest performance opportunities a high school can offer, students develop skills that prepare them not only for careers in the arts but also for any field that requires collaboration, self-discipline, leadership and creativity. With coursework and production opportunities in both performance and technical theater, the La Habra Theater Guild is a great fit for students who want to specialize in certain skills or simply dabble in a variety of theatrical experiences.
