Christian artist and Biola's Songwriter in Residence, Matt Redman, recently published an article in Christianity Today about his opinion of modern Christian music. Redman also emphasized the important relationship between theologians and Christian music artists to create gospel-centered music for God's Church.

On July 6, we received this update about Talbot Kyiv Extension On-Site Director Dr. Eduard Borysov:

On Saturday, July 6, Talbot Kyiv Extension On-Site Director, Dr. Eduard Borysov, was quite suddenly conscripted for military service. After a medical examination, he was mobilized for military service among the armed forces of Ukraine.

In addition to directing the Talbot Kyiv Extension, Dr. Borysov teaches New Testament and theology courses both for the extension and for the bachelor programs of Talbot's partner institution, Kyiv Theological Seminary. KTS President, Ruslan Khmyz, reports that Eduard is the third KTS professor to be mobilized since Russia's war in Ukraine began.

Eduard is a strong and faithful follower of Jesus. Pray that the Lord will use him powerfully in his military service, protecting him so that he might return to academic ministry and leadership once his service is complete. Please also pray for his wife, Elvira, and their one-year old daughter, Eliza, as they suffer the shock of these abrupt events.

Talbot Dean, Ed Stetzer, and the Talbot Kyiv Extension leadership team (Dr. Mark Saucy, Dominic Vincent, and Eric Oldenburg) are working on leadership contingency plans in light of Eduard's absence. Ed Stetzer and Mark Saucy were in their home last month, and Ed took a picture of their lovely family with Mark.

Please join us in praying for Dr. Borysov and his family.
