What if you had a caregiver that went above and beyond?
Dena Kew did just that! A client had an accident while alone at home. Dena called to check on the client and when there was no answer, drove over to the home. There, she found our client on the floor and called an ambulance, the family, and the office. When the EMTs arrived, they told Dena that because of her kindness and willingness to go above and beyond she saved the client's life.
Thank you for being an Angel, Dena! 💙
What food always makes you think of your Grandma?

Sofie's Top Tips for Staying Cool During the Hot Summer Months!
Hey there! My name is Winston. I am filling in while Sofie is out on vacation, enjoying the warm summer days. Read below for some helpful tips for the hot, hot weather!
1. Water, water everywhere: Make sure everyone's water bowl is always full. Humans need to lap it up too!
2. Sun's out, tongues out: Protect those hairless humans with that weird lotion stuff. Us pups might need some too if we're not so fluffy!
3. Keep it cool, drool: Humans love those noisy wind machines. Let them use 'em to keep the den chilly.
4. Dress for success: Humans should wear their lightest fur. Some of us might need cool jackets too!
5. Walkies wisdom: Early morning or evening is best for adventures. No scorched paw pads allowed!
6. Watch for the wobbles: If anyone starts acting funny in the heat, it's time to head inside pronto!
7. Treat time: Make sure the humans remember everyone's special daily treats. Some can make the heat feel worse!
8. Yummy summer snacks: Crunchy veggies are great for humans. Just don't let them share grapes or onions with us!
9. Bye-bye bugs: Help the humans put on that stinky stuff to keep the biters away. We need our own too!
10. Indoor fun: When it's too hot to play outside, indoor fetch and cuddle parties are the best!
Remember, a happy human is a human who gives more belly rubs! Bark if you need me to explain any of these tail-wagging tips!
Your fur-ever friends,
Sofie & Winston

Sofie's Top Tips for Protecting Your Back!
Hey there, fellow caregivers! It's me, Sofie, your favorite office mascot, here to give you some paw-some advice on taking care of your back while you're busy taking care of others.
1. Stand Tall and Proud: Just like us dogs, you should keep your feet shoulder-width apart and your weight evenly distributed. Engage your core muscles (that's your belly!) to support your spine and maintain a neutral posture.
2. Bend Like a Puppy: When picking up objects or helping your human friends, bend your knees and keep your back straight. This way, your strong leg muscles do the work, and your back stays happy!
3. Keep Things Close, Like a Bone: When carrying or lifting items, keep them as close to your body as possible. This minimizes the strain on your back and helps you maintain balance.
4. Push, Don't Pull: Whenever you can, push objects instead of pulling them. Pushing allows you to use your body weight and maintain a more stable posture, reducing the risk of injury. It's like when I push my nose against my food bowl - much easier than pulling it!
5. No Twisting and Turning: Twisting while lifting or moving objects can put extra stress on your spine. Instead, pivot your feet and turn your entire body in the direction you need to move. It's like when I chase my tail - I turn my whole body, not just my back!
6. Use Helpful Tools: When available, use assistive devices like transfer belts, slide boards, or mechanical lifts to help with client transfers and lifting tasks. These tools can make your job much easier and safer, just like how my leash helps my human keep me safe on walks!
Remember, taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of others. By following these body mechanics principles, you can prevent back strain, conserve energy, and maintain your physical well-being as a caregiver. If you experience any pain or discomfort, don't hesitate to see your healthcare provider for guidance and support.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some important napping and treat-eating to attend to!
Your pal,
Sofie
