FRANKLIN PLAYGROUND SPLASH PAD OPENING MONDAY, JULY 8TH!!

Go splash around and soak up the sun at our new fully grant-funded splash pad located within Franklin Playground (on the corner of Center Street and Clinton Street).

The splash pad will be open seven days a week from 11am- 7pm starting Monday, July 8th through Monday, September 2nd ( Labor Day), weather permitting.

Park rules are posted below. To ensure a safe and enjoyable time for everyone, please follow all the rules.

REMINDER- LACKAWANNA FREE SPECIAL CONCERT, SATURDAY JULY 6TH AT GALANTI PARK!

Lackawanna’s special concert is free and will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Galanti Park, 230 Martin Road (near the Senior Center).

The concert will include performances by The Willie May Blues Band at 5:00 p.m. followed by Geno McManus & Stoneflower at 8:00 p.m. We will also have food vendors there.

Willie May is a blues singer, guitar player, and composer from Lackawanna who has been performing for over 50 years. His band has won five Buffalo Area Music Awards.

Geno McManus, also a Lackawanna native, is an award-winning singer, song writer and performer who was inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 2014.

Bring your friends and family and come out and support these very well known performers!

Bring a cooler, bring a chair, see you there!!!

CITY HALL SUMMER HOURS BEGIN JULY 3RD 2024

Lackawanna City Hall operating hours will be adjusted to a summer schedule effective tomorrow.

Starting Wednesday, July 3rd and continuing through Wednesday, August 28th, City Hall will be open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except for each Wednesday during the summer schedule when hours will be 9:00 a.m. to Noon.

The City Clerk's and Treasurer's offices will continue to close at 4:00 p.m. on weekdays except for each Wednesday during the summer schedule when those offices will close at 11:45 a.m.

Questions about the summer schedule or other business at city hall can be directed to the appropriate department. A city hall directory is posted on the home page of the City of Lackawanna website at www.lackawannany.gov.

We're happy to announce that the free Summer Lunch Program will begin on Monday, July 8 through Friday, August 16 at various Lackawanna playgrounds.

Please note that the lunch program runs Monday- Friday, we do not serve lunch on the weekends.

ADVANCE NOTICE- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE ON WILLET ROAD FROM SMOKES CREEK BRIDGE TO ABBOTT ROAD - MONDAY JULY 15- FRIDAY NOVEMBER 29!!

The portion of Willett Road (CR-187) from Smokes Creek Bridge to Abbott Road (CR-4) will have single lane closures with flaggers during work hours of 7AM-7PM. These restrictions will begin July 15 with an estimated completion of November 29 or until complete. These restrictions are for the purpose of roadway rehabilitation. Access will be maintained to all traffic.

D&H Excavating will be performing the work.

Please note – this is an Erie County Highway project the city of Hamburg, Orchard Park and Lackawanna. We will do our best to share any updates received from the county as quickly as possible.

SENIOR CENTER – LUNCH MENU/ FROZEN MEAL PICKUP & NEWSLETTER JULY 2024

Lackawanna seniors (age 60+) are invited to the Senior Center at 230 Martin Road for dine-in lunch every weekday when the center is open. Lunch price is $3/meal.

The July menu is below - click to view. A few things to remember:
- Meals must be ordered A WEEK IN ADVANCE, no later than Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
- To place a lunch order, call 716-827-6669.
- Please arrive at no later than 11:45 a.m. on the day(s) you ordered.

FROZEN MEAL PICKUP PROGRAM
Our Senior Center now participates in Erie County's Frozen Meal Pickup Program, available to residents age 60 years and older. The July frozen meal menu is also posted below - click image to view.
Meals come in 3, 5, 6, 8 or 10 pack varieties. Registration is required. If interested, visit the Senior Center to fill out appropriate paperwork - if you participate in the dine-in lunch program, you’re already registered.

Bring your friends and family and check out our new pickle ball court behind the senior center, at Galanti Park!

Please bring your own balls and paddles, they will not be provided.

Fencing around the court will be up sometime in August - but for now come out and play a game or two!

CITY HALL CLOSED DUE TO POWER OUTAGE - TONIGHT’S CITY COUNCIL MEETING MOVED TO SENIOR CENTER.

As of 12:30PM today Monday 6/17, City Hall is closed due to a power outage. We expect business will resume tomorrow 6/18 at 9:00AM.

Tonight’s City Council meeting is being moved to the Senior Center. Caucus will start at 6:30PM with meeting to follow immediately after.
