The Lackawanna Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the missing juvenile pictured below.

15-year-old, Lechelle McClure, a black female approximately 5'8", 150 lbs., brown eyes, and brown hair was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black crocs. She is believed to be in the Lackawanna area.

These individuals were involved with criminal mischief at the Steel Plant property.

Beautiful day for our Special Olympics Torch Run. Special thanks to all who participated.

✨Shout out to Mayor Iafallo, who made a donation and supplied the food, and Steel Mill Gym who cupplied energy drinks.

A BIG thanks to Scott Fleetwood who volunteered his dj services for the third year in a row.

Don’t forget! Special Olympics Torch run tomorrow starting at 11am sharp. If you didn’t sign up, no worries, you may register, bring cash ($25 for short sleeve or $30 for long sleeve).

Registration begins at 10:15am. This event starts and finishes at the Lackawanna Senior Center.

Today begins National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week!! We would like to take the time to thank our Public Safety Telecommunicators of the Lackawanna Police Department. They are the unsung heroes, operating behind the scenes, answering calls, and dispatching help to those in need. 🚨🚨ATTENTION ALL RUNNERS, WALKERS, AND PEOPLE WHO ENJOY FRESH AIR🚨🚨

The Lackawanna Police Department will be hosting their annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New York.

What is the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New York you might ask?- Every year nearly 6,000 police officers from nearly 500 agencies across NYS participate in a 56 leg relay carrying the Flame of Hope across the state each year. All proceeds benefit the Special Olympic athletes here in NYS and are used toward their training, venues, uniforms, equipment and transportation.

WE WANT OUR COMMUNITIES HELP!

Our event includes the option of a 3 mile run at a slower pace (THIS IS NOT A RACE). Everyone is encouraged to stay together while passing a lit torch amongst the participants. We start together, we finish together. Bikes, and rollerblades are also welcome.

Not a runner? Have no fear. A 1.5 mile walking course is also available. Feel free to walk your kiddos in a stroller or bring your fur baby on a leash (only if their friendly).

The event is to take place on May 11, 2024. Check in will begin at approximately 10:15 am, take off starting at 11:00am. To register each participant will need to purchase a shirt that will be worn the day of the event ($25.00 short sleeve/$30.00long sleeve). The start and finish of the courses will be the Lackawanna Senior Center.

Sign ups will begin after 3pm today (3/28/24) Come whenever, we are open 24/7! 😀

Hot dogs, energy drinks and water will be free and included with registration!! See you there!!

Let’s make this our biggest year yet! 💪

Our LPD was invited to play in a basketball tournament at the Lackawanna Middle School.

FIrst game was played against the boys modified team where we showed no mercy and dominated. 💪🏀

Second game, and for the championship, was played against the Middle School staff, resulting in us bringing home the hardware. 🏆

Special thanks to the Middle School for hosting this event. We had a blast! 💥
