Thanks to the generosity of Community First Health Plans we launched Brighton Center’s Special Education Library, a video resource to help parents and caregivers of children with special needs.
Our latest blog highlights the first video featuring Brighton’s SESS Team, led by Juan Hernandez. They’ve created valuable content to help families navigate special education services, including IEP and 504 Plan reviews. With his personal experience, Juan is dedicated to empowering families to understand their rights.

A student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is one of the most critical components to educating a child with learning differences. The IEP should serve as the road map and guide for education decision making. Yet, IEPs are often misunderstood and missing vital pieces necessary for student success. This session will provide a general overview of the components of an IEP, discuss relevant education policy as it relates to IEP development in Texas, and equip parents with valuable information to better understand their child’s IEP.
Did you know that the START Breast Center is holding a survivorship series for young women with breast cancer?
