Phoenix Rising Karate is offering a 6 week training program for all ages👊! Starting Friday January 5th- February 9th, we will be offering three classes every Friday for the next six weeks! In this karate camp program, students will not only learn how to defend 🥷themselves but also begin to develop good character traits like discipline 🙏 and self confidence💪! This $160 program is a fantastic way to try out karate in a safe yet challenging environment!

Highlights from Jackson’s test! Thanks to all those who helped make this test possible and a special shout-out to Derrion “The Icon”!

The next chapter of his journey begins… please welcome Phoenix Rising Karate’s first blackbelt, Jackson Delahoussaye!

Jackson’s journey for excellence has been a long and hard journey but it has paid off tremendously. He is no longer a shy little boy but a confident young man that we couldn’t be more proud of. Get some rest Jackson, tomorrow will be a challenge but you’ve never backed down from a challenge yet.

Jackson always trains to win. His competitive nature always peaks out during his training. Being involved in basketball, cross country, and football, Jackson has every excuse to not commit to his training. For Jackson however, giving up is not an option. In spite of all of his other commitments he still makes time to train hard. Once he has dedicated himself to a goal, there is no obstacle that can stop him from achieving it.

We are so honored to be testing our very first black belt candidate this Saturday! Jackson came to us with prior training experience and has utilized his time training with Phoenix Rising Karate to develop into a fantastic martial artist, an amazing student, and future leader of society. We are so proud of of him and his journey towards mastery! Over the last year and a half, we have learned as much from Jackson as he has learned from us! We would wish him good luck but it may be better advice to tell him to keep his hands up. Go earn it champ!

Thank you for all of your love and support in our first year of business! As we approach our one year anniversary, we here at Phoenix Rising Karate would like to thank the pillars of our school. This year has been an amazing learning experience and a challenge physically, spiritually, and emotionally. I am so thankful for the opportunity.

Firstly all thanks to God for putting us in a position to help shape our community. We are forever grateful to Jamie Bourque, her husband Justin Bourque, and all of the CETA family for allowing us to train in their facility. We are also thankful to all those who spread the word and sent business our way. Of course none of this would have been possible without our fantastic students! It has been a pleasure to meet and train such wonderful students from all ages and walks of life.

To those who started this journey with us at its inception, we are eternally grateful for your faith and support. We look forward to growing and learning with you in the years to come!

In honor of our first Facebook post, we think it only right to introduce our very own Head Instructor, Sensei Daniel Terry!

Sensei Daniel was born and raised in the small community of Duson, Louisiana. He began training at the age of 9 and has continued down the path ever since. He currently holds the rank of Second-Dan Blackbelt in American Shotokan, but he is always looking to expand his knowledge of martial arts. Over his fifteen years of training–five of which he spent teaching karate–he was able to use his life experiences to develop a style he has coined “Practical Shotokan.”

Sensei Daniel earned his Bachelors of Science at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science has prepared him to better teach his students using the scientific principles behind body mechanics and motion.

Sensei knows first hand what karate has done in his life and is happy to share the transformative powers with the community around him. His goal is to help students of all different ages, races, and economic backgrounds find their inner strength and courage through martial arts.

We can’t wait to share with you all that Phoenix Rising Karate has to offer! Stay tuned!
