Tomorrow is a B Day for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. All students in grades 1 - 5 attend. Kindergarten Orientation is tomorrow for B Day students at 8:10 a.m. Please allow your B Day Kindergarten student to ride the bus or be dropped off as a car rider at the regular time rather than coming with you later. This allows students to get settled and be in PE when you arrive for their meeting, making their morning more relaxed and smooth. Your students will be with PE teachers so that you are able to meet with teachers and receive important information without any distractions.

Reminder: Kindergarten Orientation is tomorrow morning at 8:10 a.m. for A Day students. Kindergarten Orientation for B Day students is Monday at 8:10 a.m.

We are so excited about seeing you! Remember that tomorrow is an A Day, so only students with odd numbered addresses are to report tomorrow.
Please view the attached video for car rider procedures. For new students or if you do not have your car rider tag from last year, please plan to come into the front office and show your ID to pick up your student at dismissal on the first day. Car rider tags will go home with students Wednesday for A Day students and Thursday for B Day students.
Reminders: School uniforms must be worn. Remember water bottles must be clear (not tinted) plastic (water only - no additives). Also, backpacks may not have wheels.
Phenomenal turn out today for Meet and Greet!!! There’s no better way to get a teacher fired up for a school year than getting so many hugs, high fives and smiles!! Gonna be a GREAT year at the the Big P!!🐼

See our previous post about Meet and Greet on August 5th where you can drop off supplies and meet the teacher. We are still having Meet and Greet. Open House is later in the month and is where more details are provided by the teacher about expectations, procedures, and activities for the year.

Home Giveaway A portion of the proceeds from the home giveaway will be given directly to each school within the Lafayette Parish School System while the remainder will be used for future Love Our Schools initiatives.
Good news everyone!!! Our online spirit store is OPEN!!! The store will be open all school year. BUT if you want your items to be delivered by Meet and Greet (Monday, August 5th 1-3:00) then you need to place your order by Wednesday, July 24th.
If you are new to Prairie...students may wear spirit shirts every day of the week.

The Lafayette Parish School System is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Brumley as the next leader of Prairie Elementary School. Ms. Brumley has 25 years of experience as an educator, working across various educational levels.

It’s official now because she has her first Prairie t-shirt!! Welcome to our Panda family Ms. Melissa Brumley!!🐼
I just walked the first lap on the track!!! It’s right at 1/4 mile for each lap!
And bonus is even after all that rain…I didn’t make a mess coming back into the school!!!
It’s gonna be a fun 24-25 school year!!!🏃♀️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏻🐼
Surprise #2!!! It’s the beginning of our new TRACK at the Big P!!! Thanks to all your generous donations from the Color Run we were able to get phase 1 done this summer!! Hopefully after next school years Color Run we will be able to finish it completely!! Run 🐼 run!!!

This crew of AMAZING kids (minus 1 who wasn’t here today) were the announcement leaders for the year! They did a fantastic job all year and took their jobs very seriously!! From lunch to birthdays and everything in between they we top notch!! Today for our last day they all came together and we had a special announcement for the school! Super proud of all these kids!!

We finished out a fantastic year in PE today with a little silly string love from Mrs. Soprano and Mrs. Miguez!!! Thanks for sharing your sweet kiddos with us this year!! We had an absolute blast!!

I don’t think there are enough adjectives to describe how I am feeling after today’s Carnival!! Between the phenomenal volunteer help we received to our fantastic staff stepping up to help where needed…it was simply AMAZING!!! And not to mention the kids!!! WOW!!! They were so well behaved and so appreciative of the entire day!! I wish I could have recorded every encounter I had so you guys could feel the love!! I don’t think I’ve ever heard so many…”This is the best day ever”!!!! My heart is full and my body is sooooo tiiirrreeeddd!!
