Thank you to First Horizon Bank, Parish Proud, and City Club at River Ranch for supporting the 92nd Lafayette Civic Cup ceremony where Dr. Kip Schumacher will be honored as this year's recipient.
From making jewelry in his apartment to pay for medical school—to working in the high-stakes environment of a hospital Emergency Department—to launching one of the country’s largest healthcare practice management companies—to donating millions of dollars to worthy causes—Dr. Schumacher pours all his energy into every endeavor.
Upon learning of the honor, he shared, “To be recognized as a member of such a prestigious group of individuals who have made Acadiana a better place to live is truly an honor. But truth be told, the people I have been privileged to work with are the true heroes and also worthy of this recognition. Acadiana is an amazing place to live and a community I am proud to be part of.”

A new summer workforce and training program is underway at Ville Platte High School to introduce young people between the ages of 16 – 24 to skilled trades.

The Evangeline Parish Foundation, a fund of CFA, is a proud partner on this program alongside Freedom Center, Evangeline Parish Police Jury, Ville Platte City Council, and Community Outreach of North Evangeline.

Community Foundation of Acadiana is proud to serve as a connector, helping to bridge the gap between community needs and CFA donors.
Earlier this year, CFA hosted an event to connect the Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice and CFA donors who are interested in increasing access to evidence-based services for youth and families. Now, we're excited to congratulate the OJJ on the opening of a new center aimed at diverting young people in Acadiana from the juvenile justice system.
The Louisiana Multi-Agency Resource Center (LaMARC) will leverage resources already in the community and offer services designed to help families and young first-time offenders avoid future run-ins with the law or school disciplinary proceedings.

During last week’s Leadership Exchange trip to Grand Rapids, Michigan, CFA fundholders and our President & CEO Missy had the pleasure of meeting some of the Grand Rapids Community Foundation’s staff and other local family foundation leaders.
We loved hearing about the innovative ways their 100-year-old foundation has been connecting the philanthropic community, inspiring individuals, and empowering organizations, and we look forward to sharing insights, lessons, and fresh perspectives with our own community back home.
Thank you One Acadiana for hosting a wonderful learning opportunity.

Please share! CFA has activated the Acadiana Disaster and Emergency Response Fund and contributions are being accepted to support immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts.
Hurricane Francine's wake has left many families and neighborhoods in its path in need of care and repair. Within our eight-parish region, St. Mary Parish was particularly impacted with power outages, roof damage, water in homes, and trees on the road. Iberia and St. Martin Parishes are also recovering from some home damage.
Now is the time for us, as friends and neighbors, to do what we do best: come together to help those in need so that they can begin the recovery process. You can learn more and contribute to the fund at cfacadiana.org/ADERF.
CFA extends our heartfelt condolences to the family of Greg Manuel.
As we mourn this loss, we remember him as a man who enriched our community with his kindness, his leadership, and his philanthropic heart. His generosity through CFA was far-reaching and has made a lasting impact on several causes and organizations, including support for local schools and churches, disaster relief, and quality of life.
Please keep his family in your prayers during this time.

Happy work anniversary to Missy Bienvenu Andrade, President & CEO of CFA!
Two years ago, we were fortunate enough to welcome Missy to our team, and we've been reaping the benefits ever since. Here's to many more years of success together!
This week, CFA, Acadiana partners, and surrounding community foundations were in attendance at the LC Resiliency Summit to take an in-depth look at Lake Charles’ journey towards revitalization and resiliency since Hurricane Laura's landfall four years ago.
The Summit provided opportunities for us to hear some of the lessons learned from incredible thought leaders and learn more about the ongoing collaborations and initiatives that are shaping Lake Charles.
We were thrilled to join donors at the groundbreaking of Helix AI & Medical Academy (Helix AIM)! This new charter school is coming to St. Landry Parish for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.
Set to open in Opelousas in 2025, generous donations to the Helix Community Schools St. Landry Fund through the Community Foundation of Acadiana have helped to make this school a reality.
This morning, CFA and United Way of Acadiana cohosted Iberia Community Conversations, an event centered around Iberia nonprofits!
Driven by our vision to build strong relationship with our region's 501c3s, the conversation about resources and collaboration was an insightful one!
