Theatre Acadie
Theatre Acadie is devoted to the fostering of performing arts and preservation of Cajun culture through theatre classes, camps, workshops, and productions.
It's with a huge hug and bow of gratitude that I write this post to share the exciting news that Theatre Acadie will be taken under the great loving wings of Wonderland Performing Arts beginning this spring. Our mission to support, promote, and explore Cajun and Creole culture through performing arts will be carried out under the greatest performing arts academy in Acadiana.
On a personal note: the children, families, and community members I was able to share time and space with over the last 7 years has been a huge part of creating who I am as an artist, teacher, and mother. I am grateful for the partnership-turned-amazing-friendship with the exquisite Kirby Jambon. We shared a dream and a vision and created magic. (Don't fret! He will continue to teach classes and direct the French speaking youth in classes at Wonderland.)
Putting Theatre Acadie under the umbrella of Wonderland Academy and the care of , my best friend and creative partner, made perfect sense. The world she has built at 2807 Johnston Street is truly a place of wonder.
Registration for the Spring at open in 2 days! Allons jouer, y'all!
Merci beaucoup mes amis,
