HB 320 by Representative Chuck Owen which is known as the “let teachers teach” bill passed the house floor with a vote of 94-9 with LAE support. House Bill 320 calls for BESE to review mandatory teacher trainings and decide which ones will remain and which ones will no longer be required. Rep. Owen and LAE recognize that our teachers are overworked and underpaid. The intent of the bill is to relieve some burden off of our teachers who are overwhelmed and facing burnout. HB 320 now awaits the senate education committee. We will keep you posted as we continue to support this much needed legislation!
